How long can Dak Prescott and the Cowboys keep it up? Can the Ravens mastermind the shock upset? We preview this highly-anticipated showdown and serve up choice NFL picks.

   Baltimore Ravens vs Dallas Cowboys

Points Spread

The Dallas Cowboys are 8-1 SU and ATS this season with a 9.8 winning margin and +9.1 differential versus the spread. Last week, they pulled off the win and cover as the +2.5 road underdogs in Pittsburgh. To all intents and purpose, Dallas’ record is stellar and it’s currently the best in the league following New England’s 31-24 loss to the Seahawks in SNF, but there’s a caveat to be had; that is, bookmakers have been rather conservative with the NFL spread where the Cowboys are concerned. You could say they’ve undercooked theNFL lines thus far. Five games saw the Cowboys hovering on key number 3 or less, while only two games saw the Cowboys crack key numbers 6 and 7 (those involved two of the league’s worst teams Chicago and Cleveland). Against better quality opponents such as Packers and Eagles the Cowboys closed on the number 5, which is a dead number according to NFL betting experts. It doesn’t look like books are undercooking the Cowboys anymore, if the current NFL betting market were any indication. They might be overcooking them ever so slightly at the expense of the Ravens though. Opponents are finding the Ravens defense tough to absorb, which has kept Baltimore in just about every game this season.

The Survivor

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys boast the longest active winning streak in the NFL right now, an eight-game winning streak going into week 11. Remarkable, brilliant, ingenious…no hyperbole can sufficiently describe what the rookie quarterback (an after-thought fourth round NFL draft pick, mind) has accomplished thus far in his fledgling career. He’s singlehandedly raised the bar for all rookies going forward, not to mention played Tony Romo out of a job. It’s unlikely we’ll see another of his ilk anytime soon come out of the next few NFL draft classes. How do you bet against a team that simply doesn’t know how to lose?

Total Pick

Betting the total on this game is a bit of a tossup for week 11 NFL picks. Baltimore’s defense is no slouch while the offense is middling, two facets that contribute to a 3-6-0 OVER record on the season. Dallas’ defense is surprisingly better than many had it in preseason musings, and Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense are throwing down the gauntlet by averaging around 30 points per game scored. Yet, they are 4-5-0 in O/U betting this season. It really depends on which side of the ball dictates in this game. Clearly, NFL trends point to an UNDER bet as the likely choice but, perhaps, hanging the hat on the Cowboys offense is the savvy pick. Here’s hoping it is.
