It’s Monday night and I am still bitter after pushing a play on Sunday, so I am ready to cash a couple of winners here on Monday night between the Steelers and Redskins.

Eli Rogers O/U 37.5 receiving yards
The Steelers are going through a rough patch before the season even begins. They are without Le’Veon Bell for the first four games of the season, they won’t have Martavis Bryant all season and Markus Wheaton has already been ruled out of this game due to injury.

Outside of what should be a busy night for Antonio Brown and DeAngelo Williams, the Steelers are going to need to get some other guys involved in the offense. While there are multiple options, names like Sammie Coates, Jesse James, and Eli Rogers have all been thrown around as options.

While Coates’ name has been thrown around a lot as the guy who will fill in the most for Wheaton, it might actually be Rogers who sees more snaps in this first game of the season. Rogers was running with the first string offense in the third preseason game, and he seems like the perfect slot receiver next to Antonio Brown.

While that may only last during the time Wheaton is out, with Josh Norman and the rest of the Skins’ defense paying a ton of attention to Brown in this game, Rogers could be the guy that goes across the middle to help take some pressure off Brown.

While there will surely be a ton of work for Williams and Brown in this game, Rogers might be the third option offensively in this one, making his odds for over 37 yards a great play tonight. Take the over with the self-proclaimed, “Illusionist,” Rogers for your Monday night football prop picks.

Kirk Cousins O/U 0.5 interceptions
Kirk Cousins is coming into his second season as the Redskins starter and to the naked eye it appears he has an outstanding matchup against a Steelers’ secondary that was one of the worst units in the entire league last season.

However, the Steelers’ defense and secondary is much improved this year and even with the injury to Senquez Golson, the Steelers’ are going to be much better at defending the pass this season.

Even though they ranked dead last in yards allowed through the air last season, the Steelers’ secondary still racked up 17 picks, the sixth most of any team in the NFL last season. A part of that was the volume of passes needing to be defended against the Steelers, but if their defense is truly improved this season, I still expect them to be top 10 in interceptions.

Last season as Cousins was getting acclimated to being the starting quarterback, he threw eight picks in his first six games. He improved a lot after that, only turning the ball over three times in the last 10 games of the season, but with the Redskins’ overvalued receivers, there is always a chance that Cousins turns one over in this one. While the juice from Bovada is pretty big show NFL odds at -160, it’s worth it against this new-look Steelers defense.
