The NY Jets in their battle with the Cleveland Browns fit the STREAMROLLER mold perfectly this season, that's why expert capper Joe Gavazzi has them on his betting ticket

NY Jets vs Cleveland Browns 1:00 ET

Each week in this space, I look to isolate an NFL team, who looks to dominate the point of attack and STEAMROLL their NFL opponent into submission.  The NY Jets in their battle with the Cleveland Browns fit that mold perfectly this season.

It is the opinion of this bureau that Cleveland 1st year HC Jackson will turnaround this Cleveland franchise that entered this year on a run of 19-45 SU and is now 0-7 SU to open the 2016 season. That does not figure to happen this season, as the Browns will challenge to win a game. Last week, the Browns lost their 5th QB of the year, Cody Kessler to a concussion. Undrafted, Stanford rookie, QB Kevin Hogan finished the game in clean-up fashion. Hogan may actually be a better runner than passer. That will not work out well for him against a Jets’ defensive front that allows just 74/3.2 (the 2nd best in the league behind Green Bay). Rather than start Hogan, Cleveland HC Hue Jackson has announced that QB Josh McCown, who injured his shoulder in Game 2 of the season, will now be the probable starter for Sunday’s action. Regardless of who is the signal caller for Cleveland, the Browns’ own defense (among the worst in the league at 30/425), it gives a huge fundamental advantage to the NY Jets.

Against a brutal early slate, including Cincinnati, Buffalo, KC, Seattle, Pittsburgh and Arizona, the Jets were 1-5 SU, 2-4 ATS. A major reason is a (-11) net TO margin. Last week, however, against lesser competition (Baltimore Ravens), they returned to a ground assault which saw them outrush Baltimore 39/155to 12/6. Yes, that’s not a misprint. The Ravens rushed only 12 times last week for only 6 yards against that Jets’ defensive front. Even with QB Fitzpatrick at the controls (his replacement Geno Smith lost for the season with a knee injury), the Jets need only hand off the ball and play defense to STEAMROLL this outmanned opponent and roll to consecutive victories. Negative for the Jets is if starting Center Nick Mangold (knee), a perennial key to the OL fortunes of the New Yorkers, is unable to start. Cleveland’s first victory must wait for another day!
