We nailed both of our team props on Sunday to even up our record for team props this season to 2-2, so after sitting out the team props on Sunday night, I am back with several more. Let’s improve our record with these two valuable team prop NFL picks!

Washington Redskins O/U 23.5 points
The Redskins are a hard team to figure out this season. They could easily compete for the NFC East or they could be 8-8 and fall just outside of the playoffs. It’s hard to tell, but considering Kirk Cousins looked sharp in the preseason, I think it’s safe to say that the Redskins are not a bad team.

However, some of their shortcomings on offense might rear their head in this game, especially against an improved and undervalued Steelers defense. Last season Pittsburgh had one of the worst defenses in the league, especially in the secondary. They have remade both units somewhat this past offseason, so it looks like they will improve pretty dramatically from the cellar where they spent most of 2015.

That being said, even though the Redskins do get a nice bump at home, their team total for this one is a bit too high. While it’s probably no more than a one-unit play, the under looks as if it could be a solid wager because of how much better the Steelers’ defense is.

If Pittsburgh can get a pick on Cousins, or maybe recover a fumble, it might be all they need to hold the Redskins to under 23 points. If they do that, you know the Steelers’ offense is going to generate points.

However, with without two of their best three offensive weapons, Pittsburgh might play this game a bit more conservative, keeping the ball away from Cousins and wearing down the Washington defense with the run game. DeAngelo Williams should get plenty of work in this game, because as long as Pittsburgh plays solid defense and wins the time of possession battle, they might win the game. That is going to go against any Washington offense, though, so take the under at even money as for your Monday night prop picks.

Pittsburgh Steelers O/U 2.5 touchdowns
Even though they are limited on offense and against a good defense, the Steelers’ offense is still on another level from most everyone. They proved it last season with almost the same skill players and tonight they might prove it again.

Even if the Redskins lock down Antonio Brown or contain DeAngelo Williams, I don’t think they are going to be able to do both. Combine that with the added depth of young pass catchers the Steelers have and Washington can’t cover everyone. All it takes is one big play and the over value on this one skyrockets.

Last season the Steelers had 76 plays of more than 20 yards on offense and if Ben Roethlisberger would have played the entire season, they may have gotten to 90-plus. Washington’s defense has improved, but it’s not great by any means, even with the addition of Josh Norman. I haven’t heard anything about Norman being exclusively on Brown and even if he was I wouldn’t be too frightened. For Pittsburgh, it comes down to striking early and quickly, so if they can get a first quarter touchdown on the board early enough, this one is going over with NFL odds board at 2.5.
