Even with seven of their first 12 games on the road this season, the Giants could outperform expectations yet again. After an 11-win season a year ago, the Giants have a win total of 9 in the NFL Odds this offseason.
Wins You Can Count On: The problem with so many road games early on is that it’s hard to gauge which wins are a sure thing. However, a home game against the Lions in Week 2 is a good starting point. They also play the Chargers in Week 5 at home and they play the Rams at home in Week 9. That’s two straight against teams traveling cross-country too. Along with a few of their home divisional games, a home game against the Chiefs and a road game against the 49ers, I see at least five or six lock wins for New York.
Games That Could Go Either Way: These start early with road divisional games against the Cowboys in Week 1 and in Week 3 against Philly. Tampa Bay is improved this season and that game is a toss-up right now in Week 4 on the road and along with road games against the Broncos and Cardinals, there are some trouble spots filtered in throughout the middle of their schedule. Plus, playing at home against the Seahawks is going to be tough in Week 7 despite the fact that the Hawks will have to travel cross-country.Join The Conversation With Other NFL Bettors In SBR's Forum
Real Trouble Spots: Heading into the back half of their schedule, the Giants play in Washington in Week 12 and Oakland in Week 13, both of which could be losses. Along with Week 1 against the Cowboys, I think we can chalk all those up in the loss column.
Bottom Line: However, if the Giants can get some lucky bounces and upset some teams early in the season, they could easily cash the over here with 10 or more wins. I can’t see them getting below nine.
