The Ravens and Patriots collide in a pivotal AFC showdown on Monday Night Football. Here’s how to line up your choice NFL picks SU, ATS, and Total.

Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots

Point Spread Value

The New England Patriots boast a 9-3-0 ATS record which includes a 9.3 winning margin and +3.5 differential versus the spread. Only the Dallas Cowboys compare against the spread. With such heady numbers, it’s hard to bet against the Patriots even if they are laying a touchdown at the sports betting exchange. The Patriots have covered six of their last nine games, five of which featured closing lines of -7 (or higher) and three of which featured lines of -10 and higher.

The Survivor

The Ravens finally found their offense last week and handed the Miami Dolphins a crushing defeat. Question is whether it’s legit. Are we really buying this offense after just one game? Granted the Ravens have won four of their last five games but the reality is that they’ve struggled against good teams in their 2016 campaign. New England Patriots are a good team, if not one of the best teams in the NFL by a country mile. It’s going to take something extra special by Joe Flacco and Company to outgun and outmuscle Patriots at the Foxboro. Not saying it’s impossible; just don’t see it happening.

Game Total

The Ravens are exactly where one expects them to be against the total. With a 4-8-0 record they are one of the stronger UNDER performers in the market – last week marked one of those exceptions when the offensive lit up all of a sudden. What might be surprising is the fact the Patriots match the Ravens with a 4-8-0 O/U record. That’s a function of bookies setting higher lines as much as the overall prowess of the Patriots defense. In any event, the way this game is shaping up it does pose the potential for a bit of a shootout at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots are averaging 27 points per game scored while the Ravens are averaging almost 22 points scored per game. Both defenses are conceding 17.25 points per game but consider the quality of these quarterbacks and, well, it’s not hard to see the defenses on both ends of the field having their hands full.
