Our NFL Picks for props this week weren’t as successful as Week 7, however that would be wishful thinking However tonight, we still have a chance to talk away a prop winner this week. Here are my three favorite NFL Odds for props in tonight’s Monday Night Football showdown.
Jordan Reed O/U 59.5 receiving yards
Even though the Redskins are starting third string quarterback, Colt McCoy tonight on Monday Night Football, if he can be at the very least average, then the Redskins offense will score a few times in this game. The main benefactor of that may be Jordan Reed, who didn’t have a great week last week, but is one of the better pass catchers in this offense. The Cowboys are beatable via the air, and in a game with a back up QB, Reed might be busy as the safety valve. Even in a bad week in Week 7, Reed had five receptions for 54 yards, and the week before that he had eight catches on 11 targets for 92 yards. Look for him to exceed last week, and fall somewhere between his Week 6 and 7 outputs, making the 'Over' the best choice for our NFL picks.
My Pick: OVER 59.5 receiving yards (-125)
Redskins vs. Cowboys O/U 5.5 touchdowns
I’m switching to a team prop for the second play, and the touchdown total looks like a nice NFL Odds value. At -120 odds, the under might be the play between these two defenses, who are both better than most people give them credit for. The Redskins are very good at stopping the run this season, and even their pass defense has been better than expected. However against the Cowboys’ defense, and with their third-string quarterback, the Redskins may struggle to score here. Dallas is going to control the clock with their outstanding running back, and even though DeMarco Murray probably won’t tough the ball 30 times again tonight, he will be the main offensive weapon of choice for Dallas here. I could easily see Dallas getting four touchdowns and the Skins only getting one, which would make the NFL Odds for the under the play here.
My Pick: UNDER 5.5 touchdowns (-120)
Team to win both halves
This one is almost a no-brainer for me, because with NFL Odds favoring the Cowboys by double figures, their odds to win both halves in this game might be a great add to your NFL Picks. Bet365 has the Cowboys at +110 to win both halves in this game, and with the way their offense is rolling that may be enough. However the fact that McCoy is starting for the Redskins may give this pick even more value. McCoy could easily play well here, but he could just as easily throw up a dud and throw three picks. If he does the latter, this +110 prop on the Cowboys is an easy play to add to your plays tonight. Over their last two games against the Seahawks and the Giants, the Cowboys have either pushed or won the halves in those games, and against a weaker team like the Skins, they should be able to walk away with wins in both halves.
My Pick: Cowboys (+110)
