Monday Night Football will have a dark cloud hanging overhead after what happened last night in Las Vegas. However, there are some shows that must go on, and the NFL is one of them. Check out some final thoughts and angles you need to know before locking I your NFL Picks on this game.

Chiefs’ chances at perfection

Right now the Chiefs are the only undefeated team left in the NFL, and they have a chance to stay that way after Monday Night Football. The sportsbooks seem to think it’s going to happen too. Kansas City is a -7 favorite at most shops as we approach the last hours leading up to kickoff, and although the Redskins present a lot of challenges, if the Chiefs come to play on both sides of the ball, this one should be in the bag.

The question is how they will get it done. The Chiefs have faced some questionable defenses so far this season, so the Redskins have a chance to catch them off guard early in this ballgame. The Redskins’ secondary of Josh Norman and Bashaud Breeland has been very good this season, and Tyreek Hill probably has his toughest test of the season tonight.

If the Chiefs are relegated to dinking and dunking, the Skins have a chance to steal this one. However, while both defenses are up to the challenge, I fear for the Redskins’ offense coming into Arrowhead tonight.

Redskins are vulnerable over the middle

Washington’s defense has been a pleasant surprise to start the year, but they do have some weaknesses, and the Chiefs are well built to exploit them. The combination of Kareem Hunt and Travis Kelce will be extremely busy tonight in the passing game.

While the Redskins might bottle up Hill and the Redskins’ receivers tonight, the short and intermediate routes should be there for the Chiefs. Even if they don’t have as much success running the football, Hunt and Kelce will be used a lot in the passing game tonight.

I mentioned it in my prop pick for tonight’s game, but the Skins have allowed a total of 379 receiving yards to opposing tight ends and running backs. That’s not a good average over three games, and when compared to the 293 yards they’ve allowed to receivers, and you can see where the Chiefs will attack tonight.

While that may not help any spread plays, it could limit the scoring in this one. The total of 48 or 49 seems way too high for this one, and if you’re going to make a bet, that’s the one I would recommend. I see both defenses coming to play tonight, and I also see Kelce and Hunt having nice days catching the ball.
