In this column, we highlight key NFL betting trends that may be impacting line movements for week 15 matchups across sports betting platforms. Check em out before fine-tuning your final NFL picks this week.

Packers vs. BearsOpening Line: Packers -6.5Current Line: Packers -5.5

The Green Bay Packers opened as the -6.5 road chalk, and according to SBR Consensus Betting Polls the Packers are taking in the bulk of the betting. To date, the Packers have 66.1% of the tickets taken while just 33.9% of the tickets have gone towards the Bears. Clearly, the public is buying what the Packers are all of a sudden selling behind a mini-winning streak and a last-gasp bid for a playoff spot. Intriguingly, the line is moving against the Packers despite this overwhelming consensus. As it is, the Packers are hanging on a -5.5 with most sports betting outlets. It seems this reverse line movement is triggered by sharp action on the Bears, who have a defense that’s punching above its weight class and a backup quarterback that is exceeding expectations. If these NFL betting trends continue, those looking to wager the Packers might fancy waiting until the line whittles down some more. Buy low so to speak on their week 15 NFL picks.

Colts vs. VikingsOpening Line: Vikings -3.5Current Line: Vikings -5

The clash between the Colts and Vikings is taking some interesting contrasting action. Bookies opened with the Vikings laying -3.5 and early bettors seemed to fancy the hosts despite their well-documented woes since a week 6 bye (Vikings have gone 2-6 SU since week 6. Conspicuously, the line moves up to Vikings -5, with several sportsbooks while some are resting on -4.5, all of which is seemingly in proportion to the betting action (Vikings have taken 56% of tickets according to SBR Consensus Betting Polls). The interesting thing to note is the fact that the Colts have the money, to the tune of 68.45% of the total amount wagered with contributing sportsbooks. Evidently, sharps are against the public on this matchup pounding the road underdogs instead. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean the sharps have it right but it highlights the importance of having access to multiple sportsbooks and shopping around for the best NFL line for your week 15 NFL picks.

Titans vs. ChiefsOpening Line: Chiefs -6Current Line: Chiefs -4.5

The betting trends on the clash between the Titans and Chiefs has been decidedly against the market’s opening offering. The Chiefs opened as the -6 home chalk but it seems both public and sharp bettors pounded the road underdogs. Not for nothing are the Titans the vogue NFL pick these days, underscored by a 13-10 win over the Super Bowl champions in week 14. It remains to be seen whether this trend will prove profitable for bettors or bookies. As it is, the Titans have taken almost 54% of tickets and represent almost 86% of the total dollars risked on the game. Bookies will be rooting for the Chiefs to win  and cover in a big way while the public and sharps will be hoping to beat the bookies with their week 15 NFL picks on this game.
