The early numbers are out for Week 17 and the regular season is coming to a close. Let's check out where the movers and shakers are shifting these lines and gain some insight into our NFL picks this coming weekend.

4:25 PM ET Panthers vs. Falcons

The NFL odds makers opened the Dirty Birds as 2 ½ point favorites over their NFC South rivals from Carolina. But that number has risen all across the board despite the fact that the Falcons lost to the Panthers in their first meeting and that Carolina won last weekend while Atlanta fell to the Saints, failing to cover the number as five-point road dogs. The interesting part of all this is that the Panthers need to win in Week 17 almost as much as the Falcons. A win for Carolina could vault them as high as the No. 2 seed in the conference while a loss could see them tumble to the fifth seed in the NFC.

If you want to trust the steam and lock in the Falcons at the best number currently available, you may want to click on over to Bovada, currently dealing Atlanta at -3 ½ but if you like the Cats getting points on the road then your best bet is to grab the +4 that 5Dimes is offering.

4:25 PM ET 49'ers vs. Rams

If you ever doubted the importance of a quality quarterback then I suggest you take a look at the rejuvenated San Francisco 49'ers. Since acquiring Jimmy Garoppolo from New England, the dismal franchise from the Bay area has yet to lose. That's right, Sweet Jimmy G begins his West Coast life as a starter and immediately fashions four consecutive wins. Therefore, it's no big surprise that the Rams have gone from six-point home favorites to -4 at virtually all the majors. Could this line come down even further on the soon-to-be NFC West champs? 4:25 PM ET Chiefs vs. Broncos

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3193279, "sportsbooksIds":[19,1096,169,180,93], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

After notching wins over the Jets and Colts, Denver traveled to DC last week and met its match in Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins. Meanwhile, the Chiefs were busy mopping the floor with the Miami Dolphins en route to an AFC West title. So how do the cellar-dwelling Broncos, currently sitting at 5-10 on the season, open as 1 ½ point favorites over the division champs? Well, there's nothing left for Kansas City to play for and their only goal in mind is to escape Mile High unscathed and healthy for the postseason.

Thus, it is no wonder that the Broncos have jumped from 1 ½ point to as high as 3 ½ point favorites in shops like Bookmaker, Heritage, and Intertops to name but a few. But if you want to get Denver at the best possible number and you believe the Chiefs have already mailed this one in, then click over to BetOnline where you can still bet the Broncos at -3 in your NFL picks.
