KC has won 3 in a row to move to 4-5, coming off one of their best performances of the season at Denver. San Diego is 2-7 and have lost 5 in a row, putting extra meaning in this AFC West clash.

Opening Odds & Line Movement

Open: -3.5 +111 at Pinnacle
The Chiefs opened up this divisional meeting as 3.5-point favorites on the road but the NFL odds have moved down to -3. It could move one more time before kickoff on Sunday. The Chiefs are 13th in the league defensively, but when they're on their game, they're one of the best defenses in the NFL. They showed it in Denver, chasing Peyton Manning from the game with four interceptions. RB Charcandrick West has scored four times over those three games, easing the pain of losing Jamaal Charles. The Chargers are 27th in the league against the run and can't seem to stop anyone, although they did allow 22 points in a loss to Chicago before their bye. Their offensive problem is that they're one-dimensional, leading the league in passing yards, but they're 30th on the ground. That makes it easy for teams to game-plan to stop QB Philip Rivers, who to his credit, has been excellent this season.

For the Chiefs, TE James O'Shaughnessy is out for the season with a foot injury. CB Sean Smith didn't practice because of his knee, but head coach Andy Reid is still hoping he can practice later in the week and play on Sunday.

TE Ladarius Green probably won't play this weekend because of his ankle, while WR Malcolm Floyd is week to week with a shoulder injury. But a number of players returned to practice after the bye week for the Chargers, including LB Manti Te'o (ankle) and T Orlando Franklin (knee).

The Chiefs are 4-5 ATS this season, going 2-3 ATS on the road, while the Chargers are 3-6 ATS and just 1-4 ATS at home. The total moved down from 45.5 to 44, and the Chiefs have gone over five times (along with a push). The Chargers have gone under five times this season.

Kansas City is 4-6 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 meetings with their AFC West rivals from San Diego. The Chargers are 8-2 SU and 5-5 ATS in their last 10 against the Chiefs at home.
