We’re going to examine Sunday’s NFL contest between the Dolphins and Jets. Go inside to read our informative betting preview article that includes an NFL pick.

Pivotal AFC East Clash on Sunday
The Jets and Dolphins will square off on Sunday in a game that both teams sorely need regarding their Wild Card chances. The opening kickoff at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey is slated for 1:00 PM ET. Current NFL odds at 5Dimes has the Jets as a 3.0 point favorite, and the posted total is 42.5. These teams met earlier this season in London, and the Jets came away with a decisive 27-14 win. They outgained Miami in that contest by a lopsided margin of 199 yards.

Urgency & Desperation
Miami enters this game with a 4-6 record, and yet they’re just one game behind a cluster of 5-5 teams for the final AFC Wild Card spot. The Dolphins have gone 0-4 thus far in games versus fellow AFC East teams, and are now 4-12 ATS since 2013 when facing a divisional opponent. After winning the first two games for interim head coach Dan Campbell, Miami has gone 1-3 SU&ATS in their last four contests. During that four game stretch, they’ve averaged just 14.5 points scored and 291.5 total yards of offense per game. Following Sunday’s clash with the Jets, Miami will play four of its final five games at home. That favorable schedule in the final weeks of the regular season will be somewhat moot if they’re unable to win on Sunday. It’s as close to a must game for Miami as it gets at this still relatively early juncture.

Needing to Turn the Tide
The Jets began the season 4-1, and they looked every bit the part of a playoff caliber team. Then they proceeded to go 1-4 in their next five games, and are currently on the outside looking in regarding the AFC Wild Card race. Five of their final six remaining games come against opponents with a winning percentage of .500 or less, and the lone exception is when they host New England on 12/27. In their last four losses they were a -8 in turnover differential. The Jets have gone 0-3 ATS this month, and are now a miserable 2-8 ATS in November since 2013. They’re coming off a 24-17 loss as a 4.0 point road favorite against Houston last Sunday. That’s not good news on a couple of fronts, and especially since they’re 1-6 ATS the past three seasons in games following a straight up favorite loss.

Final Thoughts & Pick
The Dolphins are a team that’s clearly lacking chemistry, vastly underachieving, and have an interim head coach in limbo. When assessing my personal eye test, the Jets are the lesser of two evils in this matchup. I’ll have a small lean on the home favorite for one of my NFL picks.
