In my January 18th episode of ‘Into The Weekend with BetDSI’, Brent, the Head Lines Manager at DSI and I discussed the two NFL Conference Championship games, and also the start of the NHL season.

As we all know, regarding sports picks in the NFL, there can be significant line value and sharp action even on the highest profile NFL games, and Brent told me he has taken some sharp action on both Conference championship games so far.

I told Brent that I assumed he got overwhelming public action on both the 49ers and the Patriots. I figured that he got big public action on the Pats because of their impressive double digit win and ATS cover over Houston last week, and I assumed he got big public action on the 49ers because of their explosive, flashy momentum, as well as the simple, overwhelming support I have read and heard for them at places like SBR Forum.

Brent’s response though, was interesting. Brent did tell me last week that there was sharp action on the Ravens over Denver. And the Falcons as a significant home underdog despite being the #1 seed in the NFC has to be something public bettors would take note of.

In the world of NHL picks, Brent has taken a bit of sharp action on some futures betting odds, as well as significantly more action from the public. My sense is that the sharp action Brent took on futures odds also points to likely money line value in the first few weeks of the NHL regular season, and one of the teams Brent mentioned to me is also one I had my eye on as being possibly undervalued in the early going anyway.
