In this week’s episode of Into The Weekend with BetDSI, covering NFL week 8 and college football week 9, it turned out that there were more sharp sides in college than usual, as well as more public action in the NFL than usual, according to Brent, the Head Lines Manager at DSI.
I started out asking Brent about games involving 2 teams that are always huge favorites, and usually favored by the public as well – Oregon and Florida St. Florida States line, which opened huge, has since gotten bet up even higher, into the 30s. And Oregon is interestingly, more than a 3-touchdown favorite against UCLA, despite the fact that UCLA is a Top 15 team at the moment.
For the NFL segment, I had to ask Brent specifically about the total in the Washington/Denver game. It’s currently near 60, but in light of the recent final scores for both Washington and Denver, and the fact that Denver has gone over the total in all 7 of their games so far this year, the line at first glance may still be significantly too low. I was not surprised to find out that Brent has taken overwhelming action on the over for that game, and almost nothing from anyone on the under.

And we also touched on the San Francisco/Jacksonville game in London, where the Jaguars are once again a huge underdog. Public bettors who bet against Jacksonville when they were a huge underdog against Denver got burned, and I was interested to find out if that result might have changed the betting action for Jacksonville’s game this week.
Brent and I wrapped up this week’s show by discussing a number of sides that I guessed he took big public action on, and it turned out my suspicions were accurate. Brent and the books will need a few of those public sides to lose this week to come out on top.
