The last couple years Cincinnati has seen a number of offense players go down to injury and that had an adverse affect on the Bengals, who have not shown the quality of fighting through adversity.

Cincy has more of a squad that takes the "Here we go again" mentality and to a degree that is understandable because in many cases certain players have been injury-prone, yet are important to the success of quarterback Andy Dalton. Cincinnati's win total is 8.5 and a fast start could make them an Over play.

Wins You Can Count On: By the very nature of sportsbooks posting an 8.5 figure on the Bengals, they are not going to have many 'certain' wins against the NFL odds. Of course Cleveland at home is a positive, as should be the Bears. If Cincy beats Baltimore in the season opener, they catch Houston at home next, who is trying to find quarterback and Week 5 versus Buffalo at least sets up favorably.

Games That Could Go Either Way: This segment does include every division contest Cincinnati will play with the exception of presumably Cleveland at home. That is five games or nearly one-third of the Bengals contests, thus, it is rather easy to surmise those outcomes will go a long way to see where the Bengals ultimately end up. A trio of other ballgames that standout are three consecutive tests in Weeks 8-10. Right after battle at Pittsburgh, Cincinnati hosts Andrew Luck and Indianapolis, followed by away outings at Jacksonville and Tennessee. If the Bengals go 2-1, they will have shown they can beat teams like themselves, which could propel them the rest of the way.

Real Trouble Spots: An excursion to Green Bay for the 'Cats first road contest does not sound all that pleasant for NFL picks or does closing out a three-game road trip in the middle of November at Denver.
