With Baltimore's win total set at 9.5, if you are looking at making this a play, you have to figure precisely how the Ravens will play at home and on the road this upcoming season.

The Baltimore defense still appears at a Top 10 level and the offense littered with question marks, thus, because of how the schedule is laid out, this will be about handling circumstance.

Wins You Can Count On: In truth, there is not much you look at the Ravens schedule and say, of sure, that's a lock. Home games against Cleveland and Chicago one would assume appear quite favorable. Others that look secure but could hardly be listed as locks against the NFL odds are Miami, Houston, Detroit and Indianapolis. Chances are one of these contests should be listed in the next category, because chances are they will carry spreads of -4.5 or less for Baltimore. The Browns on the road probably fits in this slot also.

Games That Could Go Either Way: We start with the four division battles with Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, as they will have competitive spreads. We of course do not know the exact outcomes, however, history has shown us these are frequently close contests which are decided in the fourth quarter. With Jacksonville competitive, yet not really a team that can be counted on this at least now, this skirmish has a 50-50 feel to it.

Real Trouble Spots: The rest of the away schedule is treacherous and might be loaded with losses. Weeks 5 and 7 are visits to Oakland and Minnesota and the Ravens will be underdogs and probably not be popular NFL picks. On either side of Baltimore's bye week is a pair of arduous road games, the first with up and coming Tennessee and after resting, a visit to Lambeau Field to take on Aaron Rodgers.

Week 16, December 23, 4: 30 pm Colts - Win

Week 17, December 31, 1 pm Bengals - Win

Bottom Line: In order to reach 10 wins, John Harbaugh's team has to win at least one game they are not expected to and win all the games they should. We will forecast the Ravens come up short at 9-7 or 8-8.
