In this column we look at home and away trends that could factor in week 15 NFL betting and, in turn, aid towards NFL picks. We focus on the Broncos and Patriots in their respective matchups this week.

Away Favourites: Denver 11-5 ATS Since 2012
Denver Broncos boast an 11-5 ATS record with an 8.9 margin of victory when they are matched as road favourites on the NFL odds board. Overall on the away, they are 13-9 ATS since 2012 with a 6.5-point margin of victory. In their last 22 road games, they are 15-7 SU, boasting a league-leading road record since 2012 that includes a 6.5-point margin of victory.

Against the Chargers, they are 4-1 SU in their last five games in San Diego including last season's 28-20 win over the Chargers on November 10 and the 35-24 win the season prior. Last season, the pair split their meetings with both teams winning on the road, but the Denver Broncos got another over the Chargers with a win in the first round of the playoffs, a 24-17 win over the Chargers at Mile High.

Earlier this season, the Broncos beat the Chargers 35-21. They'll be looking to sweep the series against the Chargers in week 15 NFL betting. By the numbers, there is a strong case to hang your hat on the Broncos cashing on your NFL picks as the 4-point road favourites and the -200 road favourites to win SU.

Home Favourites: New England 14-9 ATS Since 2012
As home favourites, the New England Patriots are enjoying a stellar run of form with Tom Brady at quarterback. Since 2012, they boast a 14-9 ATS record at home as the odds makers' favourite with an 11.3-point margin of victory. Overall, they are 16-9 ATS at home with a 12.3-point margin of victory, a mark that includes a gauntlet throwing win over the Denver Broncos all while installed as the 3-point home pups. At home, the Patriots boast a 22-3 SU record since 2012 with a 12.3-point margin of victory, marking one of the best home records in the league over that span.

Against the Miami Dolphins, the New England Patriots have the considerable head-to-head edge. They are 7-2 SU in their last nine meetings with Miami and 5-0 SU against Miami in their last five meetings at the Foxboro. What's more, the Patriots have a 5-3-1 ATS record against the Dolphins in their last nine meetings and 3-1 ATS in their last four meetings in New England; the last time Miami cashed against the spread when playing at Foxboro was three years ago when they lost 27-24 to the Patriots as the 7-point road underdogs (December 24, 2011).

Earlier this season, the Dolphins upset the Patriots 33-20 in Miami, marking their second straight win over the Patriots since beating them in Miami 24-20 on December 15, 2013. It also marked their second cover in a row. However, as both those results came in Miami, the odds are appropriately stacked against the Dolphins in week 15 NFL betting. By the numbers, the Patriots make a strong favourable case as the -7.5-point home favourites and -360 SU favourites for your NFL picks.
