Our very own NFL odds analyst provides an early betting preview on Sunday’s game between Seattle and Minnesota. Join us in reading this insightful article which concludes with an NFL pick.

NFC Week 13 Contest with Playoff Implications
Minnesota (8-3) hosts Seattle (6-5) on this upcoming Sunday in an important Week 13 NFC matchup for both teams. The opening kickoff at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis is slated for 1:00 PM ET. Current (11/30) NFL odds at Bookmaker.com have Seattle as a 1.0 point favorite, and the posted total is 41.5. These teams last met in 2013 with Seattle winning 41-20, and covering as a 13.5 point home favorite.

Seahawks looking for Late Surge
Seattle came up with a huge 39-30 home win over Pittsburgh this past Sunday. By virtue of that victory, it catapulted them into the final wild card spot in the NFC. Since the start of the 2012 NFL campaign, Seattle has gone 22-5 straight up, and 21-6 ATS in the second half of the regular season, and that includes 2-1 SU&ATS in 2015. The Seahawks offense has shown signs of life during their previous three games, averaging 33.3 points and 429.0 yards per contest. Their defense isn’t the dominant unit that we’ve witnessed during the previous two seasons. During that recent three game stretch I just alluded to, Seattle allowed 27.3 points and 431.7 yards per outing.

Vikings recent Home Dominance
The Vikings had their seven game win streak at home come to an end two weeks ago in a 30-13 loss to Green Bay. Despite that defeat, Minnesota is still a stellar 13-4 SU&ATS in their last seventeen home games. As a matter of fact, the Vikings are a perfect 7-0 SU&ATS in their previous seven home games when facing a non-division opponent, and won by an average of 9.4 points per game. The Vikings enter this week as leaders in the NFC North, and they have a 1.0 game lead over second place Green Bay. Ironically enough, if the season were to end today, Minnesota would be hosting Seattle in a first round playoff game. Unfortunately for both teams, there’s still five weeks remaining in the regular season.

Final Thoughts and Pick
The Vikings have proven to be very difficult to beat at home. As we head into December, and specifically at cold weather sites, the running game becomes a key weapon in order for teams to succeed. Adrian Peterson is looking like his old self for the Vikings, and is coming off a huge effort in last Sunday’s 20-10 Minnesota win at Atlanta. Somewhere along the line, and especially so on the road, the loss of star running back Marshawn Lynch is going to be painfully apparent for Seattle. I’m going to have an early lean on the team with a strong home field for one of my NFL picks this week.
