With the defending Super Bowl champion Patriots a bit beat up and now without a reliable backup QB after dealing Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers, the race to win Super Bowl 52 looks to be wide open this year.

Super Bowl 52 Countdown: 76 Days From This Coming Sunday, Still Too Early to Buy the Chips and Dip?

The two NFL teams from the Keystone State, the AFC’s Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFC’s Philadelphia Eagles, are the second- and third-odds favorites in the NFL Super Bowl LII Futures market which has seen some huge changes since it open a long, long time ago and which probably offers the best betting opportunity for mid-November in the L20 years or so, no hyperbole, with as many as 12 teams possibly being able to take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Check it out, slim. Whereas in past seasons it seems like only a handful of teams could actually get to and win the big game—especially during this seemingly never-ending New England Patriots Dynasty—today it seems that maybe a dozen teams or more can get hot and win it all this year, including some names we didn’t think we’d see among the candidates this Summer.

With Super Bowl LII just 76 days from this coming Sunday, let’s take a look at the latest Futures Book numbers for Super Bowl 52 from popular sportsbook Intertops. Some things that stand out: The Philadelphia Eagles opened up at 50/1, while the New Orleans Saints 50/1 and the impressive Los Angeles Rams opened at 130/1, so some sportsbook directors may starting to be sweat, although (obviously) one NFC team can make Super Bowl 52. Here are the latest Super Bowl 52 winner numbers in odds.

12 to 14 Teams Seem to have Honest Chances of Getting To, Then Winning Super Bowl 52 This Funky Season

Two of several surprising teams—like the Eagles, Rams and Saints—to be in the mix right now are two young AFC South teams, Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville actually opened at 65/1 to win the Super Bowl and have improved much while the Titans have surrounded Oregon product Mariota with some really talented Offensive Skill guys like RBs DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry, TE Delanie Walker and Rishard Matthews, Eric Decker and Western Michigan Rookie Corey Davis at Wide Receiver, among others.

Another AFC team to obviously keep your big blue eyes on and not to fall asleep on Marty are the AFC West’s real heavyweights, the Kansas City Chiefs who are probably the fastest team in the league with players like Tyreek Hill and Kareem Hunt and a legit NFL MVP candidate in Alex Smith at QB along with red-hot TE Travis Kelce to go with a killer Defense that can score itself with studs like Derrick Johnson, Justin Houston, Tamba Hali, Marcus Peters and Eric Berry and one of the best Head Coaches around in Andy Reid. If any NFL team is really “due to” win a Super Bowl, it’s the Chiefs, but with Bill Belichick and the Patriots always in the Playoff path in the AFC, well, Life’s a bitch for everyone everywhere and those who truly win out, in the end, deserve the trophies, Fame, Glory and Precious Memories.

An enigmatic division which has three teams that look like they could win the NFC is the upstart NFC South, with the Falcons, the Panthers and  the Saints, who have reeled off 7 straight Wins and are finally getting some nice play on the Defensive side of the ball, all legit Super Bowl candidates. Who dat? Dat could be your next NFL champ if you’re not careful, Bubba.

With the upstart Minnesota Vikings  in the NFC North also playing lights-out Defense, Jared Goff and the Rams scoring points in bunches like the legendary Greatest Show on Turf days and the Eagles the actual NFC odds favorites (5/1), well the NFC is suddenly a very crowded and talented place and let’s not forget the Dallas Cowboys, who have been hamstrung by the Suspension the stud RB Ezekiel Elliott, the Seattle Seahawks who are always a nightmarish draw come Playoffs time and even the Detroit Lions who are definitely now thinking Wild Card in the NFC.
