We look to keep our hot hand rolling in week 6 as we weigh in on the entire NFL odds board and pick our bets against the spread for each and every game. So let’s get cracking.

Nikki Adams Game-by-Game SU, ATS And Total Picks Record

Week 5 SU: 8-6-0 (Overall Season Record: 48-29-0)
Week 5 ATS: 9-4-1 (Overall Season Record: 52-24-1)
Week 5 Totals: 4-10-0 (Overall Season Record 33-43-1)

Thursday, October 13, 2016Broncos vs. Chargers

Trevor Siemian played more of a part in the Broncos going 4-0 SU and ATS on the season than many were giving him credit. Most NFL bettors lauded the Broncos defense as the main factor but last week the Falcons put paid on that notion. Matt Ryan picked apart the defense and the Falcons O-line simply had too many weapons for the Broncos to handle. It didn’t help Denver’s cause that Paxton Lynch didn’t look as poised or calm in his first NFL start. As such, a lot hinges on whether Trevor Siemian will start this Thursday Night Football game, which is a definite possibility but not a certainty at the time of writing. That said given the unbelievable talent the Chargers have to lose games, there’s a distinct possibility they’ll find a way to lose this one too.

Sunday, October 16, 2016Niners vs. Bills

Is this the time the Niners finally start Colin Kaepernick? Reports suggest it is, which could alter the make-up of this game and give Rex Ryan and the Bills a game-planning challenge. Whether Kaepernick is the answer remains to be seen, but the Bills are riding a three-game winning streak which has them improving to 3-2-0 SU and ATS on the season, underscored by a +6.0 winning margin and a +7.6 differential versus the spread. It’s going to be quite the tough ask for Chip Kelly and the Niners who are coming off a Thursday Night Football loss. As it is, the suddenly hot on the trot Bills are laying -7.5 points at open doors and moving up the scale to -9 with several sports betting outlets.  Dunno about most NFL bettors but it’s totally unusual to see the Bills laying that many points.

Free NFL Picks: Niners +9 (-120) Best  Line Offered: at 5Dimes

Eagles vs. Redskins

The Eagles lost a narrow game in Detroit while the Redskins edged the Ravens 16-10 in Baltimore – both results going against week 5 consensus betting picks. Books opened with a PK line on this game but within mere minutes the public bet up the Eagles to a high of -2 with most sports betting exchanges. Those that shop NFL betting lines diligently can still find the Eagles hanging on -1 or -1.5 but will need to act fast if that’s the way they’re leaning. Clearly, the public is all over the Eagles and the loss to the Lions hasn’t put the nation off its love affair with Carson Wentz. That and Kirk Cousins is due a let-down performance, perhaps.

Browns vs. Titans

The Cleveland Browns can’t seem to catch a break in any respect. Not only can’t they win games, but also they can’t keep a starting quarterback for more than five minutes it seems. Down to their fourth string quarterback in just five games, Charlie Whitehurst steeped in for an injured Cody Kessler in week 5’s defeat to the Patriots and also finished the game pretty banged up. Early reports suggest Cody Kessler will start in week 6 against the Titans, which is encouraging but we’re not holding our breath where the snake bit Browns are concerned. There’s also suggestion Josh McCown might be fit to start… To put it mildly, lots of ifs and buts about this game. Assuming either gets the start, Browns plus the points is tempting for week 6 NFL picks. Granted the Titans won in Miami quite convincingly, but the Dolphins really have no identity whatsoever. We’re not sold on the Titans as yet.

Ravens vs. Giants

The Ravens fired their offensive coordinator following a second straight loss in week 5, a 16-10 loss to the Redskins. Since the start of the season, the 3-2 SU Ravens didn’t look good on the offensive side of the ball so the decision to part with Marc Trestman probably was a good one. The Giants, meanwhile, slip to a third straight defeat at Lambeau in Sunday Night Football. By and large a forgettable outing for Eli Manning and the G-men. To be fair, this game is a right tossup and that makes it probably worth hedging on our week 6 NFL picks.

Panthers vs. Saints

Jaguars vs. Bears

The Chicago Bears return to Soldier Field where they welcome the Jacksonville Jaguars flush off a bye week 5 and their first win of the season. Appropriately, it’s a tight NFL betting line with the Bears laying just -1 to -2 points across the sports betting exchange. It’s up in the air whether Brian Hoyer continues to start for the Bears or if the unpopular and out-of-favour Jay Cutler resumes his place under centre. Assuming Hoyer starts, the Bears are a tempting shade. There’s something to be said about coming off a bye and having all that time to prepare for a game. Question is are we ready to buy what the Jaguars are selling when they’ve only beaten a questionable Colts side to date and before that were unpredictable from week to week just as Jay Cutler has been for the Bears through seven years of his career in the windy city?

Free NFL Picks: Bears -2 (-110) Best Line Offered: at Bodog

Rams vs. Lions

The St. Louis Rams crashed back to earth behind a 30-19 loss to the Buffalo Bills at home. They take on a Detroit Lions that bounced back with a 24-23 win over Philadelphia Eagles at Ford Field and will look to continue the momentum. If there’s one concern to be had is the unpredictability of Matthew Stafford and the Lions. They’ve yet to string together a convincing winning streak. This could be a close call against a stout defense that can get at Stafford.

Steelers vs. Dolphins

The Pittsburgh Steelers offense is soaring behind Big Ben for a second straight week. Since the season started, Roethlisberger has 15 TDs, nine of which have come in the last two weeks. Heck, Roethlisberger has almost as many TDs as Ryan Tannehill has sacks. If that’s not an indication of the disparity between these quarterbacks what is. Unless Adam Gase can figure out how to get his quarterback going, the Dolphins are in danger of another hefty defeat.

Free NFL Picks: Steelers -7.5 (+100) Best Line Offered: at BetOnline

Bengals vs. Patriots

Tom Brady leads the Patriots to a bounce back performance in Cleveland all while covering the largest spread trading in week 5 NFL betting. Predictably, the Patriots go into week 6 against a Bengals offense that is mired in an existential crisis as the hefty home faves. NFL bettors will find the Patriots laying -8 to -10 points at home, which does seem a lot of points considering the Bengals are a good team on paper. Then again, if Dak Rrescott and the Cowboys can race off to a 21-0 lead over the Bengals what can Tom Brady do?

Free NFL Picks: Patriots -8 (-110) Best Line Offered: at Bodog

Chiefs vs. Raiders

The Kansas City Chief come off a bye and travel to Oakland where the Raiders will be looking to extend their hot streak to four in a row. Predictably, Oakland opened as the home favourites but laying just -2 with most sports betting shops. That they weren’t allotted the typical field goal advantage awarded to home sides is telling. Might have something to do with the way they’re winning games, in dramatic last-gasp efforts. To be fair, that doesn’t make for a winning formula in a gruelling sport.

Free NFL Picks: Chiefs +2 (-109) Best Line Offered: at Pinnacle

Falcons vs. Seahawks

If there was any doubt last week about the legitimacy of the Falcons offense, they put paid on those with a comprehensive win over the Denver Broncos at Mile High. Sure, they caught a break with rookie Paxton Lynch, who lived up to the inexperience of his label in his first NFL start. Still, don’t take anything away from the Falcons in a deserved win. How they stack up against the Seahawks will be interesting. Dan Quinn know his former team very well so that gives him an edge in game-planning. Plus, the Seahawks have been up-and-down through the first four weeks of the season, which makes the 6-point spread against a very good Falcons side look rather generous.

Free NFL Picks: Falcons +6 (-110) Best Line Offered: at BetCris

Cowboys vs. Packers

The Packers look to win a third straight game when they welcome the hot Dallas Cowboys to Lambeau. Early advanced lines from Westgate had the Packers almost touchdown favourites but following Dak Prescott’s convincing turn against the Bengals last week the NFL line dropped to -4. Clearly, there are those that are buying what the Cowboys are selling. Still, it’s going to be a tough ask to defeat the Packers at home one would assume.

Free NFL Picks: Packers -4 (-105) Best Line Offered: at Bookmaker

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3011277, "sportsbooksIds":[93,999996,1096,139,1275], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]

Colts vs. Texans

Is anybody sold on the Colts or the Texans? The Colts are 2-4 SU on the season while the Texans are 3-2 SU on the season but both sides leave much to be desired for various reasons. As such, this is a real tossup and bookies roll out a standard field goal advantage for the Texans. If there’s one thing that the hosts have going their way it’s a 3-0 SU record at home underscored by a 7.7-point winning margin and a +4.8 differential versus the spread.

Free NFL Picks: Texans -3 (-105) Best Line Offered: at WilliamHill

Monday, October 17, 2016Jets vs. Cardinals

It looks like Carson Palmer will be back for Monday Night Football with the New York Jets, which is welcome news for fans. Notionally, having a starter back boosts a side’s hopes and chances. How well has Palmer played this season, really? Not so well, to be honest. He’s looked unsure of himself, indecisive and ineffective, save for his performance in the win over the Buccaneers. 1-3 SU and ATS record is what the Cardinals can lay at his feet. Hardly a ringing endorsement is it, prompting us to go hmmmm…. How can the Cardinals be laying -7.5 or more when they are just 2-3 ATS on the season with a 4.8-point winning margin and a -2.2 differential versus the spread. The only time they covered a spread that high was in week 2 when they beat the Bucs 40-7.

The Jets are a better team than the Bucs, although that’s hard to argue considering they are 1-4 SU going into week 6 with a -8.8 losing margin on average and a -6.0 differential versus the spread. Ryan Fitzpatrick is under the cosh and playing for his job (assuming he’s still the starter on Monday). It’s not been all his fault, but somebody needs to be the fall guy, if you will. Last week, he got his turnovers in check but still led the Jets to a loss. There were positives to be had that the team could build on in this matchup. Might not be enough for a win but, perhaps, the cover is there to be had at the very least. Then again, given the way the Cardinals are playing would you go lock down their stock with much conviction?
