Week 3 is here and it’s time to once again take a stab at some player props, courtesy of bet365 sportsbook. I have three props in mind that I think hold extra value this week, so follow along as I release them all to you for free!
Tony Romo O/U 250 ½ Passing Yards
This is probably my favorite player prop of the week, because even though the Cowboys will likely beat up on the Rams, the game is in St. Louis, and the Boys are desperate. They aren’t going to take anything for granted, and I expect Tony Romo to light up the Rams secondary, and try to beat them by as many points as possible.
Some teams would take it conservative against this Rams team, but the Cowboys are trying to keep pace in the NFC East, and with the Eagles and Redskins playing one another this week, it would really hurt their divisional standings if the Cowboys lose Sunday. That being said, the Rams haven’t given up too many passing yards this season, but that could be because they have played two games against the Vikings and Bucs, two teams with below average quarterback play. Look for Romo to have 251 or more yards this week to cash this prop.
NFL Pick: OVER 250 ½ pass yards (-125)
Alfred Morris TD Scored
Speaking of the NFC East, the Redskins have by far their biggest game of the season this week on the road in Philadelphia. Young Alfred Morris actually gets to play with a pocket passer this week, and at +120 to score a touchdown on the NFL odds board from bet365, the value is there for you to take a stab at Morris to score a touchdown. Last week Morris had two touchdowns against the Jaguars, and while the Eagles won’t let Washington run the clock out in this game, Philly’s run defense is not great.
Plus, much like Romo being the first real quarterback that the Rams have to face this season, Morris is much better than Toby Gerhart or the combination of Ahmad Bradshaw and Trent Richardson. Morris should find the end zone this week, because any time the Skins get down into the red zone, I expect Kurt Cousins to hand the rock off to the 225 pounder, Morris.
NFL Pick: Alfred Morris TD Scored (+120)
Reggie Bush O/U 72 ½ Total Yards
While Romo’s prop this week may be my favorite, the total yards prop for Reggie Bush is also pretty appetizing. Last season during their game against the Packers in Detroit, Bush went for over 180 total yards from scrimmage. Granted Aaron Rodgers was not playing in that game, but still the Packers defense this season is nothing to get excited about. They have given up an average of 176 rushing yards per game through two games, and I don’t see that getting much better this week against the combo on Bush and Joique Bell.
Bet365 is giving us a bargain at 72-½ rushing and receiving yards with Bush. Bush didn’t have a great game last week against the Panthers, but no one from the Lions really did. The Panthers’ defense is one of the better units in the NFL, but the Packers are pretty much the opposite. I see Bush going well over 72 total yards in this game as long as he doesn’t get hurt. Even though there is some chalk at -130, there is still a lot of value with the over for our NFL picks.
NFL Pick: OVER 72 ½ total yards (-130)
