Washington is 4-5 after lighting up New Orleans for 47 points. However, they're facing one of the two remaining undefeated teams in the NFL in Carolina, who rolled over Tennessee.

Carolina opened this line as 7.5-point favorites at home and that is where the NFL odds have stayed as they manhandled the Titans. Washington put up those 47 points on the Saints, who are dead last in the league in yards allowed and fired coordinator Rob Ryan after that game. They'll be hard-pressed to score half those points against the Panthers, who are tenth in the NFL. Meanwhile, Carolina QB Cam Newton is probably second in the MVP conversation behind New England counterpart Tom Brady after throwing for one score and running for another against the Titans, and the Redskins are 21st in the NFL in yards allowed. The Redskins are 30th in the league against the run; the Panthers are third in the NFL running the ball. This matchup will likely decide this game on Sunday as the Panthers have given Newton freedom in their version of the zone-read option, and he has been making good decisions. It might be up to Washington QB Kirk Cousins, who won the NFC Offensive Player of the Week, to put up ore numbers against a tough Carolina defense.

The Redskins have lost LB Junior Galette for the season to an Achilles injury, while RB Silas Redd is gone for four games for violating the substance-abuse policy. CB DeAngelo Hall was active last week with a toe injury and should play this week, while WR Andre Roberts missed the game with an ankle injury.

For the Panthers, G Andrew Norwell didnt practice because of his hamstring, but other than that, Carolina is healthy as they try to go 10-0.

The Redskins are 4-5 ATS this season, but just 1-3 ATS on the road. The Panthers have covered in seven of nine games this season, and they're 3-2 ATS at home. The total dipped from 45.5 to 45, and Carolina has gone over five times this season. The Redskins have gone under five times.

The Panthers are 4-6 SU (three wins in a row) and ATS in their last 10 meetings with Washington, and at home, Carolina is 3-2 SU (again, three wins in a row) and 1-4 ATS against the Redskins.
