Week 4 is almost here, and for those who like to read other people's opinions before formulating a betting decision, we have the top NFL predictions from an expert handicapper which has started the season in style against the NFL betting odds.

NFL expert handicapper has started the season in style against the NFL betting odds with a 13-4 record on all selections relating to picking winners for individual games. While certainly a strong start, I know the betting gods are lurking, waiting for any amount of overconfidence to show and are ready to teach someone a lesson.

I worked over the odds at always popular and A+ rated 5Dimes and will offer this NFL week 4 predictions.

Carolina Ready For Hostile Environment
Can Newton likes to do the Superman thing when he scores touchdowns. But even the real Superman has a weakness and it was kryptonite. In Newton and Carolina's case that has been defenses which can slow the run and have defensive backs which are skilled at tight coverage's. In losing three of last four, the Panthers have faced Denver twice and Minnesota last week. For this contest against a fired up Atlanta team which is 2-1, the Falcons lack any of those qualities, ranked 22nd against the run and 29th versus the pass. Atlanta is also 0-6 ATS after a division win and 2-10 ATS after gaining 400 or more yards in three consecutive games. I will hand out the three points.

Dallas Delivers in San Francisco
While I understand it, still was pleasantly surprised to see Dallas as a three-point favorite at San Francisco. The 49ers are back home after two blowout road losses and they will undoubtedly play better at Levi's Stadium. Yet, Dallas is not that that far removed from a 3-0 start and the in the victory over Chicago, you saw a confidence of past Cowboys teams which has not been seen since 2014. For San Fran to beat Dallas, they would have to go after Dallas' greatest weakness, pass defense. One problem, Blaine Gabbert is the Niners quarterback and is not capable unless something miraculous happens to make that happen. Not a blowout, just solid 7-10 point win by The Boys.

Pittsburgh in Bounce Back Spot
Ben Roethlisberger and Pittsburgh were completely flustered by Philadelphia and whipped 34-3. The Steelers looked like they San Francisco in being manhandled and it was their worst loss in 27 years and it ended an NFL-record streak of 305 games of not trailing by 30 or more points. (Elias Sports, thanks). Pittsburgh is a proud organization and I cannot see them taking this as "just one of those games" and are extremely prepared. Taking on an opponent like Kansas City only heightens the focus and resolve. The Chiefs vs. Steelers NFL odds have Pitt at -5.5 and with coach Mike Tomlin's club 14-4 after permitting 30 or more points and winning by 13.7 points a game in those contests, for Sunday Night football it is Pittsburgh to cover.
