We only have a week until the NFL season starts, and there are only a few days left for NFL season-long bets. I have identified a few prop NFL Odds from Bovada that look particularly intriguing, and they all have some excellent value.
First Coach Fired
This is a great prop from Bovada. Not only is it hilarious, but also there is some immense value right now for both the NFC and the AFC. For some odd reason, Jason Garrett is the leading NFL Odds man at +300, however he has been dealing more with injury than a bad team. However at +800 sits the Bills head coach, Doug Marrone. The Bills have had an atrocious preseason, and they look like an offense that’s going nowhere. In Thursday’s final preseason game, rookie Sammy Watkins got injured, and that’s a huge blow to this air game if he isn’t ready by Week 1. The Bills start their season against the Bears, Dolphins and Chargers, three teams that will be tough to beat, even with the latter two at home. EJ Manuel has looked horrible, and if he continues to struggle, it could be a short season for Marrone, in only his second year as coach.
NFL Futures Pick: Doug Marrone (+800)
Comeback Player of the Year
This is one of my favorite season long props, and even though he isn’t the favorite, Aaron Rodgers might be the best lock I can give you for this bet. At +550, Rodgers might be in the running to break some records this year, and if he succeeds in just breaking one, it might be enough to give him the comeback player of the year. Robert Griffin III is the favorite, however the Packers have a far better team than the Redskins. Other options include Rob Gronkowski, Eli Manning and Julio Jones, however none have the offensive firepower that Rodgers does. If he throws for 5000 yards and 45 touchdowns this season, it might be enough to win him some season awards, as well as the comeback player of the year.
NFL Futures Pick: Aaron Rodgers (+550)
Receiving Yards Leader
I have been endorsing this NFL pick for a while now, but no one in the league has upside like Demaryius Thomas to lead the league in receiving yards. With Eric Decker gone from Denver, Thomas is going to have to take on a much greater role in the Broncos offense, and even though he was already fourth in receiving yards last season, he has the ability to do more. He was fourth in yards, however everyone inside of the top eight receivers had more targets than he did. He also was only ninth in receptions last season. Another 30 targets over the course of the season, and he could surpass 1500 yards, as well as hold the honor of nobody finishing with more than that. I don’t think Emmanuel Sanders is going to play a huge role, and if they can’t get Wes Welker healthy, it’s just going to mean more looks for Thomas. At the NFL Odds of +800, and with only Calvin Johnson and Dez Bryant ahead of him in the NFL Odds, it’s a great value play in the season long NFL Props.
NFL Futures Pick: Demaryius Thomas (+800)
