SBR record YTD: 134-96-6 (-105 avg. odds); NFL (2016-17): 23-13 (avg. odds -107)

Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers -4

Since 2015, the combined average score in any game at Lambeau Field is 21.5 points. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ passing attack is sputtering, accruing 6.0 yards per attempt in 2016 (27th in the NFL). What really is the difference-maker in this spot is the Green Bay defense. It’s allowing 6.9 points through the first two-quarters in its last 10 home games. Rookie Dak Prescott, like most first-year quarterbacks, will find the historic stadium's confines daunting.

The Cowboys run the ball more than any team in the league (51 percent of plays), and will attempt to establish it early to keep Rodgers off the field. Time will tick away. Defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli is far too familiar with Rodgers, spending years in the NFC North with the Bears and Lions. In 11 games against as head coach or coordinator, the Rodgers-led offense scores 12.8 first half points per game, going over 14 just twice.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Oakland Raiders -1

It’s no secret K.C. head coach Andy Reid has figured out the whole bye-week formula: he’s 15-2 SU and 12-5 ATS as an NFL coach the following contest. What’s his mad method of success? He gives his team an unprecedented entire week off. Rest and relaxation at any point of the season is warranted, and you can bet his players look to reward their grateful coach with a victory next time out.

Recouping from injuries may also have something to do with it, and the good news for the Chiefs is running back Jamaal Charles (knee) should be involved more after playing just 10 snaps in Week 4.

K.C. laid an egg on defense at Pittsburgh last Sunday, giving up 43 points. But this is a unit allowing 15.6 points per game over its last 18 played, holding opponents below their projected team total in 13 of them. The offense is haphazard from week to week, though. The fact the Raiders yield 7.0 yards per play, most in the NFL, is a good sign Alex Smith and company could be in for a good day.

Los Angeles Rams vs Detroit Lions -3

Rams head coach Jeff Fisher is joked on for being a perennial 8-8 coach, but has done a good job keeping his team close early on in games where the market gives them a decent shot. Given a touchdown or less, L.A. has topped or pushed a field goal spread in 12 of its last 17 games.
