The Packers set up a highly-anticipated showdown with the Giants in the wildcard round, marking one of the toughest matchups to call on NFL picks in the playoffs. Here’s how we line up SU, ATS and Total.

N.Y. Giants vs Green Bay Packers

Point Spread Value

The Packers rode the momentum of a six-game winning streak to close the regular season as the NFC North champions. It came down to the wire: a week 17 matchup with the Lions. Aaron Rodgers, true to his lofty standards, led the Packers to a sensational 31-24 win at Ford Field thereby knocking the Lions down to sixth seed. Consider the form and the sheer belief the Packers must have right now, they set up a rather intriguing matchup with the Giants who are looking rather confident as well.

Not surprisingly, it’s a tight-ish betting line between this pair on offer at the sports betting exchange. The fifth-seed Giants definitely merit consideration. When they boast a 9-6-1 ATS mark for the season that includes a 1.6 winning margin and +1.6 differential versus the spread. Their defense is nothing to sniff at and have kept games uber close. Plus. Eli Manning for all the criticism he gets during the regular season does have a knack for pulling off the upset. That said Rodgers and the Packers look to be inspired and on a mission.

The Survivor

Seeing as we’re shading the Packers against the spread on our picks as the home chalk, it stands to reason to back them straight up as well. Home advantage certainly gives the Packers an edge over the Giants: Lambeau can be a treacherous field for many an opponent in the playoffs. It’s worth noting this isn’t a lock NFL pick, though. It wouldn’t surprise anybody if the G-men served up an upset in the wildcard round.

 Game Total

The Packers offense seems to have found its rhythm down the stretch and Aaron Rodgers looks like his old self with 15 TDs and no interceptions over the last six games. As such, the Packers improve to a 10-6-0 OVER record in their 2016-2017 campaign. The G-men, meanwhile, boast a 4-12-0 OVER record. In essence, they finished the regular season as the best UNDER performers in the league. Given these contrasting stats, this game could go either way. For our money, we’re backing the OVER on our wildcard NFL picks, largely down to the strength of the improved Green Bay offense.
