NFL handicapper Swinging Johnson clicked with his biggest play of the day last week and after perusing the NFL odds is poised to cash in his Week 9 NFL picks.

Swinger's 2014 NFL Record (10-12, -13.65 units)
I was expecting my NFL Picks for Week 8 to go 2-0 Sunday with my four-unit KC wager clicking effortlessly over the St. Louis Rams who were coming off a stunning victory over the Seahawks the week before and were due for a letdown. No worries there as the Chiefs rolled and easily covered the seven-point impost in a 34-7 drubbing of the Rams.

However, we decided to throw good money on a bad team when we suspected the Jets would get a bounce from their gritty performance in Foxboro the week before as they hosted the Buffalo Bills. That proved to be a three-unit mistake which essentially meant we made virtually no coin in Week 8. Let’s keep grinding boys and girls.

Redskins (3-5 SU, 3-5 ATS) vs. Vikings (3-5 SU, 4-4 ATS)
I do my level best to find spots, weak spots, where teams are coming off a big win or perhaps looking ahead to a pivotal game against a divisional rival. I found such a spot right here as I did last week when I essentially faded the Rams in my NFL picks as they were coming off a stunning victory over Seattle. The ‘Skins are goin’ down.

Yes, the same Redskins that I backed three weeks ago and then again two weeks ago that cost me more than a few dineros. They are fresh off an epic victory over the Cowboys on the road and will come down to earth this week when they face a Minnesota team that is really not as piss poor as some might believe. The Vikings are sixth in defensive yards per game and have covered the number in NFL odds in their last two games on the road. About a year ago the Vikings defeated the Redskins 34-27 and we’re looking for an even bigger margin of victory this time around. Lastly, Washington is 10-24 ATS after a road win since 2000.

Jets (1-7 SU, 1-6-1 ATS) vs. Chiefs (4-3 SU, 5-2 ATS)
I don’t like to be part of the Great Unwashed Masses who blindly back a big home favorite that looked completely dominant the week before over a visiting team that looked thoroughly beleaguered during that same week. I’m not a lemming and I do my utmost to disabuse anyone (including myself) of the notion that I am a square but this one looks like a total mismatch.

Michael Vick will be getting the start over Geno Smith (surprise, surprise) but this is not vintage Michael Vick. He didn’t look brilliant in relief last week when the Jets were getting pummeled by the Bills and things won’t get easier at Arrowhead especially when the Chiefs were swarming Rams QB Austin Davis last week and garnered seven sacks and held the Rams to only 200 total yards of offense. In NFL betting trends review the following:

NY Jets are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games.

NY Jets are 2-4-2 ATS in their last 8 games on the road.

Free NFL Pick: Play Kansas City -10 for 4 units at Pinnacle.

Rams (2-5 SU, 2-5 ATS) vs. 49’ers (4-3 SU, 4-3 ATS)
Austin Davis was annihilated last week by the Chiefs and now he has to deal with his starting left tackle Jake Long on the shelf with an ACL tear. The Rams have been lousy on the road and the Niners are coming home off a bye week. San Francisco is a much better team than their record indicates and they will be champing at the bit to atone for their Week 7 loss to Denver. Earlier this year the 49’ers waltzed into St. Louis and came away with a 31-17 victory as three-point visiting chalk in NFL odds. Why would things be any different at home?

Here are a few stats to back up the Niners as one of your NFL picks on Sunday.

Rams are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 meetings in San Francisco.

49ers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in November.

49ers are 25-8-3 ATS in their last 36 games following an ATS loss.

49ers are 6-2 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

The Woodman’s Corner (4-4 ATS, - 0.3 units)
The Woodman got close last week backing the Baltimore Ravens as 1 ½ point dogs to the home based Bengals but it wasn’t close enough as the Ravens fell 27-24 and flamed in his NFL picks. But alas, it is a new week and when our fearless capper spies a double digit underdog he gets about as giddy as a fat guy at a buffet. The Raiders tickle his fancy to hang and bang with the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field this Sunday. The Woodman sayeth back Oakland +15 in your Week 9 NFL picks.
