The last week of the regular season looms on the horizon, meaning it’s our last game-by-game ATS rundown before the NFL playoffs. Find out where we’re lining our NFL picks on the board in week 17.

Ravens vs. Bengals
Do the Ravens have another upset in them after they upended the Pittsburgh Penguins in week 16 NFL betting? It’s impossible to say they don’t. The Ravens as a whole are going nowhere this season, save the golf course. Ryan Mallet, however, is playing for his NFL future. The Bengals, meanwhile, are coming off a bitter loss to the Broncos in OT, a loss that saw AJ McCarron come crashing down to earth after he boggled the snap and fumbled the ball. So much for being the next Tom Brady. It doesn’t help either that he’s injured his wrist (non-throwing arm). All in all, this is still a divisional rivalry with plenty animosity on both sides. The Bengals are fighting for a first round bye, which means the pressure is on them to win. But nine points seems a lot to be giving the Bengals when so much is riding on the outcome of this game on an unheralded quarterback.

NFL Picks: Ravens +10

Lions vs. Bears
The Bears are just 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS at home with a 6.4-point losing margin and a negative 5.8-point differential against the spread. Yet, they enter this game as the nominal 1-point favorites at home. It’s really a tossup between these two teams that have been a disappointment on the season, but the Lions must have the edge here seeing as they are largely the better team despite their 6-9 SU record. Some sportsbooks are running this game on a PK line, which makes it a straight up NFL pick. For the sake of symmetry – we picked the Lions to win straight up in our game-by-game ML picks – we’re taking the Lions here too.

Jaguars vs. Texans
The Texans take on the Jaguars in an AFC South showdown that’s set to decide the division title. The Texans are riding the momentum of a two-game winning streak, which includes six wins in their last eight games. They are 4-3 ATS at home with a 2-point winning margin and a plus 0.8-point differential against the spread. The Jaguars are riding a two-game losing streak, but that doesn’t mean they’ll roll over like welcome mats in Houston. They’ve been one of the better teams in the AFC South this season and that’s saying a lot about their future prospects. Most sportsbooks are trading on a high 6-to-7-points for this game, which does seem like a lot of points to lay with the Texans in a divisional game. Still, with so much riding on the outcome of this game the Texans could pull off the cover.

Patriots vs. Dolphins
The Patriots enter week 17 NFL betting as one of several double-digit favorites on the NFL odds board. They are playing for the AFC first seed and a first round bye, after letting the opportunity slip through their fingers in an overtime loss to the Jets. The Patriots should be fired up for this game and keen to rebound. By contrast, the Dolphins are spark out, riding a three-game losing streak which includes a 31-24 loss to the Giants, 30-14 loss to the Chargers and an 18-12 loss to the Colts. More importantly, they haven’t covered in their last six games. Granted this is the first time they’ve been disadvantaged by so much on the NFL odds board.

NFL Picks: Patriots -10

Saints vs. Falcons
The Falcons were denied full enjoyment of the upset over the Panthers when they were summarily eliminated from the playoffs by the Vikings’ win over the Giants. If that’s not a let-down spot, what is? Neither team has much to play for save for pride and divisional bragging rights. The Saints are riding the momentum of a two-game winning streak and looking to sweep the series over the Falcons. This game should be a lot close than the NFL odds suggest.

NFL Picks: Saints +4.5

Jets vs. Bills
Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jets rose to the occasion in week 16, beating the Patriots at home to resurrect their playoff hopes. Now, they must seal the deal in Buffalo when they take on the Buffalo Bills and former coach Rex Ryan. As it is, the NFL odds are trading on a three-point line, which is a fair assessment of this matchup in our books taking into consideration the divisional context and the potential the Bills have to spoil the party. There’s nothing Rex Ryan would love than to knock his old team out of the playoffs, but the Jets should be buoyed by last week’s win.

NFL Picks: Jets -3

Eagles vs. Giants
The Eagles fired Chip Kelly just before week 17, which can’t be good for the team ahead of their final game of the regular season. The Giants are out of the playoffs and coming off a rather horrendous loss to the Vikings on the road. Ironically, this could also be the final game of the season for Tom Coughlin. All in all, it’s a total tossup on our NFL picks, but we’re leaning towards the Giants at home.

Steelers vs. Browns
The Steelers stubbed their toes in week 16 with a loss to the Ravens. Now, their playoff destiny relies on several outcomes, beginning with a win over the Browns. That shouldn’t be too much of a problem you’d think given the NFL betting trends between these two sides. Steelers should win this game. The only question is whether they’ll cover the hefty spread trading of ten points or more depending on your sportsbook of choice.

Titans vs. Colts
The Colts and Titans collide in the season finale, both trotting out backup quarterbacks. Andrew Luck is out and backup Matt Hasselbeck was ruled out, enter backup-to-the-backup Josh Freeman. For the Titans, Marcus Mariota is set to sit out the game, allowing Zach Mettenberger to take over the calls.. the Colts have a slim shot to make the playoffs, but under the circumstances few NFL bettors are holding out much hope. In terms of a betting standpoint, this game holds very little appeal. The fireworks that are sure to ensue after the game is put to bed are probably going to be a lot more interesting than what happens on the field. As it is, the odds makers favour the Colts on account of home advantage and because they are the better team on paper. We’re of a mind to agree.

NFL Picks: Colts -3.5

Redskins vs. Cowboys
The Redskins enter the final game of the season as the road underdogs to both win straight up and cover. That’s interesting considering they are taking on the Dallas Cowboys that are coming off their worst season in recent memory. They simply can’t seem to buy a win no matter how hard they try, never mind cover as the favorites. Since Tony Romo’s injury in week 2, they’ve only once covered as the favorites; that was in a win over the Dolphins.

Raiders vs. Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs are riding a nine-game winning streak, turning around a 1-5 SU into a 10-5 campaign, with a shot at the divisional title still in play. The Chiefs have twice missed the cover in their last three games, both of which were double digit spreads, and fall to a 1-2 ATS mark in their last three games.

NFL Picks: Raiders +7

Chargers vs. Broncos
The Broncos take on the Chargers in week 17 NFL betting, marking Brock Osweiler’s seventh start on the season. The Broncos edged the Bengals in week 16 to clinch a spot in the playoffs, now they’re fighting for the AFC West title with only Philip Rivers and a banged up Chargers standing in their way. NFL odds are trading upwards of 9-points at most sportsbooks, which does seem a lot of points to be giving the Broncos when Brock Osweiler and the Broncos are 3-3 ATS since his first start this season.

NFL Picks: Chargers +10

Seahawks vs. Cardinals
Advanced lines had the Seahawks favored in this game but two things happened in week 16 to flip the script: the Seahawks lost to the Rams at home and the Cardinals destroyed the Packers at home. Now, the Cardinals are trading as the whopping 7-point home faves, a line that has jumped up from 3.5-points at early doors. Yikes. One has to consider if the Rams can hold the Seahawks to a 23-10 defeat at CenturyLink, the Cardinals should fare similarly if not better at home.

Rams vs. Niners
The Niners in a word are bad. Simple as that. They’ve been on a negative trend for the better part of the season and with the final week looming that’s hardly about to change. The Rams, meanwhile, have perked up down the stretch behind Case Keenum, who’s playing for his NFL future. The Rams are coming off a big upset in week 16 NFL betting, coming through as the 14.5-point road underdogs to the Seahawks in a 23-10 win. In their second straight divisional clash, there’s a reasonable chance they’ll come up trumps again.

NFL Picks: Rams -3.5
Best Line Offered: at Bookmaker

Bucs vs. Panthers
The Panthers let one game slip in week 16 when they lost to the Falcons. Is it really a big deal? It was always going to be a challenge to close the season on a perfect 16-0 SU record. The Bucs loom on the horizon in week 17 NFL betting and while they have nothing to play for they’ll be fired up against their divisional standard. One wonders though whether they’ll have enough left in the tank for a side reeling from its loss on the season and still fighting for a first round bye.

NFL Picks: Panthers -10
Best Line Offered: at Bovada

Vikings vs. Packers
The Vikings and the Packers collide in a pivotal NFC North showdown which is sure to be the highlight of the final week of the regular season. Fittingly, given what is on the line, the Packers are only nominal home favorites over the Vikings, trading on a field goal line. The Vikings are coming off a big win and looking to carry the momentum into Lambeau Field. The Packers are coming off a forgettable outing in Arizona, desperate to bounce back and clinch the NFC North and a first round bye. Home edge tips it to the Packers on our NFL picks.
