Winnipeg’s current slide reached five games with a 37-18 loss to the Tiger-Cats last Friday night as a four-point home underdog in the first game of this home-and-home series. The total went ‘Over’ the 52.5-point line. The Blue Bombers are now 1-6 straight-up on the year and 3-4 against the spread. They have been able to cover in all three previous road games this season with the total staying ‘Under’ in all three of those contests.
The main problem with this team has been an offense that is averaging just 21.9 points a game, which is ranked last in the CFL. Max Hall got the start at quarterback in last week’s game after both Buck Pierce and Justin Goltz proved to be ineffective at moving the offense in previous starts. Hall threw for 241 yards and one touchdown against the Tiger-Cats while completing 60 percent of his passes and getting picked-off twice. The Bombers have also had their issues on defense and are ranked last in the league in points allowed (210).
The Tiger-Cats improved to 3-4 SU on the year with last Friday’s victory, which was their second of the season over Winnipeg after posting a 25-20 win in Week 3 as six-point home favorites. The total stayed ‘Under’ the 54.5-point line in that game. Hamilton is 0-3 ATS at home this season and the total has stayed ‘Under’ in all three games.
Hamilton’s offense is finally starting to come around under the guidance of quarterback Henry Burris. He has put up some big numbers all season long with a league-high 2,136 yards and 11 touchdown throws while completing 65.1 percent of his passes, but this did not always translate to a big number on the scoreboard. That is starting to change as the Tiger-Cats have now put up a combined 67 points in their last two games which is not good news for Bomber fans.

Winnipeg vs. Hamilton Free CFL Pick
While it is hard to beat a team three times in just nine weeks especially when you have to lay 10 points, the free CFL pick in this matchup is to stick with Tiger-Cats to win and cover. They are moving in the right direction on offense and Winnipeg just does not have the firepower to keep this game closer than 10 points.
