The Lions kept pace with Saskatchewan in the West Division with a crucial 26-22 victory over Calgary last Saturday as 3.5-point home favorites. The total stayed ‘Under’ the 52.5-point line. They are now 5-2 straight-up on the year and 4-3 against the spread. The total has stayed ‘Under’ in four of their first seven games overall and in three of four games on the road.
BC has played solid defense so far; allowing the second fewest points in the league (164). Its offense has only scored five more total points but it has been able to tally 26 points or more in three of its last four games. Travis Lulay continues to play well under center with 1,691 yards passing while completing 64.9 percent of his throws. He has 11 touchdown passes this season, which is tied for third-most in the league, but he has been picked-off seven times, which in the most in the CFL.
Montreal started the season favored to repeat as East Division champs this season, but an unexpected 2-5 SU start has put an early damper on those plans. Even firing its new head coach just five weeks into the season failed to cause a spark and now it may not have the services of veteran quarterback Anthony Calvillo for this matchup after leaving last week’s game against Saskatchewan with a head injury. Even with him in the lineup, the Alouettes’ offense has been anemic this season with an average of just 22.3 points a game.
The Alouettes are 3-4 ATS this season with a 1-3 ATS record in four previous home games. The defense has also struggled at times this season and is allowing an average of 28.7 points a game. The injury list has continued to grow on this side of the ball as well with eight players currently spending time on the nine-game injury list.

BC vs. Montreal Free CFL Pick
Past betting trends do not paint a solid picture for either team, but current form swings the overall edge in this game heavily in BC’s direction. The Alouettes’ offense will have a hard time putting points on the board no matter who is at quarterback making the free CFL pick in this one the Lions as road favorites.
