This Saturday at Mosaic Stadium, the East Division leading Toronto Argonauts will face -off against one of the top teams in the West.

CFL Game Preview and Free Pick- Toronto Argonauts vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Saskatchewan Roughriders and Toronto Argonaut could be a preview of the 2013 Grey Cup Championship. The game is set to start at 6:30 p.m. (PT) and it will be broadcast in Canada on TSN.

Toronto Overview

The Argonauts held onto their slim one-game lead in the East Division with a crucial 37-30 victory last Sunday over Montreal as two-point underdogs on the road. The total went OVER the 49.5-point line in that game. Toronto is now 6-4 straight-up on the year with a 5-5 record against the spread. The total has gone OVER in six of its first 10 games.

Life goes on without quarterback Ricky Ray, who is still recovering from a shoulder injury, but things are looking better with Zack Collaros as his replacement. After a couple of shaky starts against Calgary and Montreal in the first game of a home-and-home series, he looked much better throwing the ball in this past Sunday’s win over the Alouettes. He completed 30-of-43 attempts for 336 yards and two touchdowns. Toronto remains the highest scoring team in the East with an average of 29 points a game.

Saskatchewan Overview

The Roughriders were rolling towards the West Division title when they were suddenly punched in the face in an ugly 25-13 loss to Winnipeg last Sunday as 8.5-point favorites on the road. It was just the second SU win of the season for the Blue Bombers, while the loss dropped Saskatchewan to 8-2 SU (6-4 ATS) and into a tie with Calgary for first place in the division. The Roughriders are 3-1 ATS at home this season and the total has gone OVER in six of their first 10 games.

I would look for this team to bounce-back in a big way this Saturday night considering that it remains the highest scoring team in the CFL with an average of 32.5 points a game. It also boasts the league’s stingiest defense; holding opponents to an average of just 22.7 points a game for our sports picks. Damian Durant continues to lead the way on offense with 2,327 passing yards and a CFL-high 21 touchdown throws against just two interceptions. Saskatchewan has also gotten a huge effort from Kory Sheets running the ball with a league-high 1,214 yards and eight touchdowns on 209 carries.

Toronto vs. Saskatchewan Predictions

Toronto brings some solid momentum into this matchup off of last week’s win and it has done a good job at covering spreads in this series, but Collaros could be in over his head on the road against an angry Roughriders’ defense. Even with Ray behind center, it is very questionable whether or not the Argonauts would have enough juice to hang with Saskatchewan for all four quarters. With Collaros at the helm the answer is no.
