Falcons vs. Jaguars Week 12 Picks: Get-Right Spot for Atlanta?
The Atlanta Falcons will aim to keep their fading playoff hopes alive when they head on the road face the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 12. Read on for our top Falcons-Jaguars picks.
The Falcons’ chances of reaching the playoffs now look slim after back-to-back blowout losses to the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. They are now languishing at the bottom of the NFC South with a 4-6 record.
The situation is even bleaker for the Jags. A 30-10 defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11 left them with a share of the second-worst record in the league at 2-8.
Both of these teams are 4-6 against the spread. Atlanta is 5-5 against the Over/Under, while Jacksonville’s is 2-8.
Here are my picks and predictions for the NFL Week 12 matchup between the Falcons and Jaguars (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on 1-to-5-star scale).

Falcons vs. Jaguars Predictions
Falcons -1.5 (-110)
Some of the Falcons’ best performances have come on the road this season. They are 3-2 straight up as visitors, compared to 1-4 at home.
The Falcons are also 3-2 against the spread in away games, and they tend to perform especially well on the road against weaker teams. They are 5-1 ATS in their last six away games against teams with a losing home record.
Jacksonville is 1-4 ATS at home, and its defense looks woefully bereft of talent. It is allowing 361.3 yards and 26.2 points per game.
That should provide Falcons QB Matt Ryan with a great opportunity to rebound on Sunday. The Falcons played two of the best teams in the NFL in the last two weeks, but they should have a far less taxing afternoon in Week 12.
Much could depend on the injury status of Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle). He was badly missed last weekend, and he could galvanize this offense if he recovers after a one-game absence.
Under 45.5 (-110)
This game pits two of the league’s worst defenses against one another. The Falcons have allowed 28.8 points per game this season to rank 31st.
The Jags rank 26th with 26.2 points allowed per game. However, both teams may lack the offensive firepower to push the total Over the 45.5-point line.
The Jags’ team points prop total is 22.5. They exceeded that number only once this season, in a scrappy 23-20 win against the Miami Dolphins.
The Falcons should have more success, but they have managed to put up only 17.8 points per game this season, and they have mustered just three points in their last two games combined.
