Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars look for an upset on Thursday Night Football when they head to Nashville and Nissan Stadium to dance with the Titans. Let’s look at all of the relevant information and make a safe NFL pick.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Tennessee Titans

NFL Picks Season Record: 50-32-1

Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-4 SU, 3-3 ATS, 117 PS-160 PA) head north to Nashville and Nissan Stadium to meet Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans (3-4 SU, 2-5 ATS) on Thursday Night Football in the week 8 lidlifter and tough AFC South loss for the ultimate loser. Sportsbooks offshore currently have the Titans as 3½-point favorites everywhere with the Total from 43 to 43½  while in the money line marketplace, Tennessee is -175 with Jacksonville +165 on the takeback. The 1st Half odds are almost as high as the game NFL odds, with Tennessee 2½-point chalks. The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook opened the Titans as 3-point favorites in its NFL Week 8 Advanced Line.

Series Trends, Overall Trends, The Serious Blake Bortles Road-Win Problem, Game Handicap For TNF

The Jaguars and Head Coach Gus Bradley (21-31-2 ATS) have done really well in this series, going 8-1-2 ATS the L11, but Life in the AFC South has been hard on Jacksonville which has gone 16-52 SU the L4+ seasons. The Titans have been playing better this season with the acquisition of RB DeMarco Murray, but like Jacksonville, have been poor at Home (1-3 SU), but are at least scoring points (20.9 ppg).

Maybe the biggest glaring Trend to look at here is the fact that Jacksonville (1-3- ATS L5 Road) starting QB Bortles is just 10-24 SU lifetime and has just 2 Road Wins since manning the helm in J-ville. Two. So with QB Mariota running the ball (210 yards) like he did at Oregon to compliment Murray (633 yards), the Titans now possess more of a balanced attack on Offense with Delanie Walker, Rishard Matthews and Murray being his primary receivers. One glaring problem? The Titans are 0-4 ATS at Home.

This is a tough game to handicap as well as bet and laying (or taking) the tricky number 3½ doesn’t sound so good doing or recommending, so backing host Tennessee on the Moneyline (-175, 5Dimes) and fading Bortles and his measly 2 Road Wins and using this as a parlay element seems the best route. Both of these teams can’t be trusted and it’s important to remember here the Titans still have the worst ATS record in the NFL since 2014 (9-28-2, 24.3%). Trust matters.

Predicted Final Score: Titans 27 Jaguars 24Free NFL Pick: Titans -168 at 5Dimes
