The NFC West champion Seahawks head three time zones east to Atlanta on Saturday. After starting the playoffs off with a 4-1 record on Wild Card weekend, let’s keep that betting momentum going with two valuable picks.

Seattle Seahawks vs Atlanta Falcons —NFC Divisional Round

The Seattle Seahawks (11-5 SU, 9-8 ATS) head to the Georgia Dome (FieldTurf) to play the Falcons (11-5 SU, 10-6 ATS) in in the first NFC divisional round matchup. Currently, Atlanta is a 4½- to 5-point favorite —up from 3½ Open—with the total 51 to 51½, up from 49 and the money line seeing Atlanta as -210 chalks with Seattle +190.

Seattle Seahawks

Russell Wilson (15-19-1 ATS Road) and the Seahawks dominated the Lions in the Wild Card Round in Seattle and now head three-time zones east where it’s had games scoring 3 (LA), 6 (AZ), 5 (TB) and 10 (GB) points. So, maybe the Seahawks have become Jeckyll & Hyde about site? Seattle’s did beat the Patriots in New England in Week 10, but a tendency to play down Away was evident with Seattle 3-4-1 SU and 3-5 ATS on the road and the OL’s still suspect.

Seattle is 47-23-2 ATS L72 on FieldTurf, 15-6-1 ATS L22 on road vs. teams Winning Home Records and 4-1 ATS L5 meetings in Atlanta. The Underdog (7-3 ATS L10) and road team (4-1 ATS) have fared well here.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have a week’s Rest but with Matt Ryan (37-33-2 ATS Home) 0-5 ATS Postseason, they still need to get over that NFL hump and into the Super Bowl. Ryan (38 TDs/7 INTs) will look for Julio Jones much with Seahawks’ Earl Thomas (Tibia) out but expect Atlanta to also try to establish Devonta Freeman and the Rush.

The Falcons are a strong Over team (13-3) and scored 30+ points in 11 of 16 games with the Over 10-1-1 L12 Falcons NFC games, 10-1 L11 FieldTurf, 7-1-1 L9 Saturdays and 13-2-1 L16 overall. And in the 72° Georgia Dome environs, hands will stay warm and footing perfect. But bettor beware as Vic Beasley (15.5 Sacks, #1 NFL) and Atlanta have improved and the Seahawks Defense (18.2 ppg, #3 Scoring) is their strength.

Points Can’t Help But Being Scored...

With all 8 Falcons Home games going Over, averaging 61.5 ppg, backing the Total Over here (5-1 L6 meetings) seems wise with Weather a non-issue, the high-scoring Falcons (33.8 ppg, #1 Scoring Offense) involved and No Tomorrow for the losers. Seattle may have been stifled on the Road this season but this isn’t the spot or Site for a low-scoring chess match.
