The NFC North champion Packers roll into the NFL Playoffs winners of six straight but Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay easily got the toughest Wild Card opponent. Will the Cheeseheads leave curdled or can WRs Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and Davante Adams combine for enough yardage and points to send Big Blue home?

N.Y. Giants vs Green Bay Packers - NFC Wild Card Round Preview

The New York Giants head to Lambeau Field (Desso GrassMaster) in Green Bay (Cloudy, 8°F) Sunday to face the Packers (10-6 SU, 10-6 ATS) in an NFC Wild Card matchup.

Green Bay are 4½-point favorites —down from Opening 6½—at sportsbooks with the total 44½ to 45. The money line sees the Packers -188 with the Giants +205 while the 1st Half odds see GB 3-point chalks with the 1st Half Total 22½.

New York Giants

The Giants enter as the Wild Card Round underdog with the best perceived shot of pulling off an upset, and QB Eli Manning and Odell Beckham should connect on some big plays but can NY (#25 Total Offense) topple the Packers in Wisconsin? If so, it’ll have to be Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and the 2nd-ranked Scoring D (17.8 ppg) that leads the charge.

But remember, New York’s used to this situation (7-1 ATS L8 Road-Neutral Playoff), familiar with Cold and has already beaten the Cowboys twice. The Giants are a remarkable 9-0 ATS L9 Road Playoff games, 4-0 ATS L4 Playoffs overall and 4-1 ATS L5 Wild Card but 1-8-2 ATS L12 vs. Teams with Winning Home Records.

Green Bay Packers

The Packers head into NFL’s Postseason playing great football, W6 straight with QB Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson seemingly on the same page they were two seasons ago. Randall Cobb (Ankle) returned to practice Wednesday but GB had three CB’s dinged up in its division-winning Week 17 encounter at Detroit.

With the Cheeseheads 4-0 ATS L4 Wild Card games, 4-1 ATS L5 on Grass, Playoff and vs. NFC and 5-1 ATS L6 Overall, the technicals are fairly even here but HC Mike McCarthy does have a great ATS record (110-77-4, 58.8%). Here, it seems the “extra” production of Cobb and Davante Adams could be keys.

Packers Won’t Be Taken By Surprise at Lambeau

When you think of which QB you’d rather have your money on in here, most would choose Rodgers. And with Rodgers confident from ending the season strong, playing at Home and having his toy WRs back and producing, NY’s Defense will have to be at its best to stop the Packers’ Passing attack.

And with the Giants (-2 TO Margin, T-#21) limited Rushing attack (88.3 ypg, #29 NFL), expecting Manning not to make a big Interception mistake (or two) against the Packers (+8 TO Margin) here seems like wishful thinking.
