The wildcard round is in our rearview mirror with the divisional round looming. Let’s check out the early NFL odds and see if there is an opportunity to exploit a weak line or two.

Saturday 4:35 PM ET Falcons vs. Eagles

We always say shop around because the NFL odds differ from one online sportsbook to another. And when the number hovers around the magic number of three, half points can be important, full points critical. In this matchup between the NFC’s top seed and bottom seed, we see something that is highly unusual, to say the least. The sixth-seeded Falcons are actually favored on the road over the 13-3 Eagles. This happens about as often as a unicorn dances on a birthday cake so take a good look because you may not witness it again.

For those who love value, you can’t get better than the top seed getting a field goal head start in their own stadium. Bovada will give those home dog lovers the biggest bang for their gambling buck with Philadelphia +3 (-105) while those who are convinced Matty Ice and the Dirty Birds are poised to ascend to the next round should shop on over to TheGreek where you can bet Atlanta in your NFL picks at -2 ½ (-115).

Saturday 8:15 PM ET Titans vs. Patriots

You may have read that there is discord in Foxboro between the legendary triumvirate of Brady, Belichick, and Kraft but the oddsmakers are having none of it. The reigning Super Bowl champs have been installed as 13 point favorites at most of the majors but if you believe Marcus Mariota and the Titans can hang and bang with the crew from Foxboro, then get on over to Bovada, currently dealing Tennessee +14 (-120).

Sunday 1:05 PM ET Jaguars vs. Steelers

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3384854, "sportsbooksIds":[1096,139,999996,19,169], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

I believe there was an early, early opener of Pittsburgh -7 but that number appears to be long gone and hard to find. As of this Tuesday morning writing all the majors are dealing the Steelers -7 ½ and that hook could be the death knell of Pittsburgh backers unless you spend the extra dime and buy it to seven. However, it’s good news for those who believe that the Jacksonville defense will bear its fangs and shut down the Steelers’ offense. If you like the home chalk, you may want to jump in now because this line is probably moving up as the week progresses.

Sunday 4:40 PM ET Saints vs. Vikings

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3384856, "sportsbooksIds":[1096,139,999996,19,169], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

The Vikings opened as 3 ½ point home favorites over Drew Brees and the Saints but that line has spiked to four across the board with the lone exception being SportsInteraction, still holding fast with Minnesota -3 ½. If you like the road dog here, you have plenty of choices ranging from 5Dimes to BetOnline to YouWager, all offering New Orleans +4 as of this writing.
