Detroit had won three in a row, when they were stunned by a Hail Mary against Green Bay. The Lions are now 4-8 as they travel to St. Louis, who will be the NFL pick?

The Rams opened this NFL betting line as 1-point favorites at home, which is where the line has stayed so far. However, it is difficult to imagine the Rams as favorites as they were terrible two weeks ago in Cincinnati, and even worse in a 27-3 loss to the Cardinals at home. They barely have a homefield advantage anymore and the threat of the team moving back to Los Angeles has to be a distraction, which is a shame. The Lions were rolling, but the Hail Mary loss to the Packers brought them back to earth. It was one of those losses that you can only imagine happening to the Lions (maybe Cleveland as well), but still, Detroit have been playing much better as of late. The Rams' offense is laughably bad, ranking 31st in yards for and points scored, and this is the type of matchup that Detroit's offense needs to get some confidence back if they want to cover the NFL odds in this spot.

Injuries
The Lions had everyone at practice on Wednesday, including T Michael Ola, who left the Green Bay game with a knee injury. Having everyone relatively healthy is huge for the Lions as they figure out how to go about things next season.

WR Stedman Bailey is officially gone for the season after he was shot in the head a couple weeks ago, and his NFL career is in danger, which is obviously bigger than football. TE Lance Kendricks and CB Janoris Jenkins are both in the league's concussion protocol.

Trends
Detroit is 4-8 ATS this season, and a decent 2-3 ATS on the road. The Rams are 4-7-1 ATS, and they've covered in half of their six home games. The total comes in at 40.5, and the Rams have gone under nine times, while the Lions have gone over seven times.

St. Louis is 3-4 SU and 4-3 ATS in seven meetings with the Lions since 1999. Just one of those games gave been held in St. Louis, where the Rams won 41-34 in 2006 as 5-point favorites.
