The most interesting rivalry in the NFL today has to be the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. The football odds say Philly will win their Week 2 matchup.

Jason's 2015 record as of Sept. 15: 4-3 ATS; 2-2 Total

The Philadelphia Eagles would love to take the NFC East crown back from the Dallas Cowboys.  It'll be even sweeter this year, because the Eagles have already taken DeMarco Murray away from Dallas. Except a funny thing happened in Week 1: Murray only got eight carries for nine yards in a 26-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons (+3 at home). Weird.

While the Eagles were losing a game they should have won, Dallas had to pull out some horsehoes to beat the New York Giants 27-26. The Giants (+7 away) had this game sewn up, but they exercised some poor clock management – and it sure looked like the timekeepers in Big D were messing with the clock, too. Oh well. Judging by the NFL odds for Week 2, Philadelphia's in good shape to beat the Cowboys in Week 2. Let's take a look at the spread, moneyline and total for Sunday's matchup and share our top NFL picks for each.

Betting the Spread: Eagles –5
If there was any doubt who the market thinks is the better team, you can forget about it now. This spread suggests the Eagles would be 2.5-point favorites or thereabouts on neutral ground. Philly fans, you saw your team play a very strong second half against the Falcons; Sam Bradford threw a pair of touchdown passes, and while Murray wasn't very busy, he did score two TDs of his own, one on the ground and one through the air. Murray should be even more motivated to perform well against his former club on Sunday, even if he says otherwise.

Betting the Moneyline: Eagles –200
If the Cowboys were only getting three points, they might be worth a spin on the moneyline. They're still getting about two-thirds consensus at +185 as we go to press, compared to 53 percent support ATS. But why would anyone bet on the Cowboys right now? They didn't play well at all against New York, and their running game just isn't what it was when Murray was racking up the mileage. Dallas had just 80 yards rushing against the G-Men, including 16 yards on six carries from Darren McFadden.

Betting theTotal: 55 Points
Holy cannoli, that's a big total. But it's not entirely out of reach. The Cowboys defense just isn't very good – it finished No. 22 on the efficiency charts last year at Football Outsiders. And we all know how explosive the Eagles offense can be under head coach Chip Kelly. It's fair enough to give Philly a mulligan for that first half against Atlanta – there are a lot of new moving parts to this offense, most notably Bradford and Murray, but also former Cowboys WR Miles Austin. One caveat: Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is out until Week 8 or so with a broken right foot. Send your get-well wishes and floral arrangements to Arlington, Tex.

Free NFL Pick: Grab the 'Over' at Pinnacle

So it seems that Pinnacle Sports is hanging the best lines on offer currently for this matchup. Keep checking back, as we do expect to see small shifts as we near kickoff. Our NFL betting consensus is showing that the Cowboys are getting 53.2% of the action on the spread, with the 'Under' getting 53.7% of the money at this point. This could open up some value for us here, as both of our recommended picks are against the early flow of money.

AFC East Futures Implications

Given that these tow are the favorites in the AFC East Future markets, we could also see online sportsbooks adjust their lines once the results are in. Given that the Giants already have one divisional loss to their name, we do know that either the Cowboys or Eagles will join that category come Sunday evening. With the Redskins already being written off by most sports bettors, this might be one of the best times to grab your team before the tone of the division is set.
