After Joe Flacco stunned Damar Hamlin to win the 2023-24 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, we're looking ahead to the 2024-25 race with NFL odds from our NFL betting sites.

For much of the 2023 NFL season, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin would win the NFL Comeback Player of the Year. Then Joe Flacco signed with the Cleveland Browns and guided them to a surprising playoff berth - eventually earning the biggest surprise win of the NFL awards season.

Could we be in for another shocker in 2024? We're still awaiting odds from our best sports betting sites for this year's race, which should feature a wide field of potential contenders for what is routinely the most unpredictable award in the NFL. We can expect quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and Kirk Cousins to be in the mix, though this race is truly too early to call.

As we wait for the opening odds for the 2024 NFL Comeback Rookie of the Year odds, here's a look at the closing odds last year via our best sportsbooks and a history of the award.

2023 NFL Comeback Player of the Year winner

Joe Flacco (+135 via Caesars)

Just when it looked like Hamlin had this award wrapped up, Flacco signed off the street and engineered one of the most impressive runs by a midseason signing in NFL history.

That was enough for oddsmakers to look past Flacco's limited playing time - and Hamlin's heroic feat to return to the football field - and reward the Browns passer for his comeback from a miserable 2022 season with the New York Jets. He finished the 2023 season with 1,616 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and eight interceptions while leading Cleveland to a 4-1 record over his five starts.
