NFL Coach of the Year 2022 Odds: Shanahan, Daboll, and Pederson Among Finalists

Who will win the NFL Coach of the Year award among Brian Daboll, Kyle Shanahan, and Doug Pederson? In this article, we examine the NFL odds for each of the three finalists for Coach of the Year.

It turns out that the markets were way off when Nick Sirianni was considered the favorite to win Coach of the Year at the end of the season. Not only will Sirianni not win the award, he was also not named among the three finalists.

The Coach of the Year market has been and remains one of the most fluid markets in any futures betting, as we cannot predict how the Associated Press will vote.

2022 NFL Coach of the Year picks: finalists

Kyle Shanahan (+188)

As he had to build his offense around not one, not two, but three different quarterbacks this season, Kyle Shanahan has quite the case to claim the Coach of the Year award. Shanahan may be a finalist for the award, but he was not always a front-runner. On Nov. 13, Shanahan was available in the betting markets at +10000. 

Brian Daboll (+300)

Brian Daboll managed to bring the New York Giants to the playoffs despite inheriting one of the worst rosters in the NFL. In order to be a finalist for this award, a team must have a strong finish, but Daboll bucked that trend by finishing the season with a 2-5-1 record. On Dec. 13, Daboll was +3250 to win the award, which was his highest price.

Doug Pederson (+1000)

Doug Pederson was +25000 to win the Coach of the Year award on Nov. 29, yes, you read that correctly, +25000. I regret not taking a closer look at this price when Pederson was fresh off a victory over the Baltimore Ravens. If you bet on Pederson with massive odds, you should celebrate with some ice cream if he wins.
