Cincinnati Bengals backers made a lot of money last season, as the team overcame +2500 odds to win the AFC North and +8000 odds to win the conference. However, one will not find those lofty prices anymore now that the hunters have become the hunted. Check out the Bengals’ futures odds, picks, and preview for the upcoming season.

The Bengals had the 28th-worst preseason odds (per FPI) at 15% to reach the playoffs last year, but as it was, they came within three points of winning a Super Bowl. Can quarterback Joe Burrow lead the team on another historic run in his third year under center?

Here’s our 2022 NFL season preview for the Cincinnati Bengals, with a look at the team’s futures markets and our top picks (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook).

Bengals 2022 Picks

To win the AFC North (+190 via DraftKings)Under 10 wins (-125 via DraftKings)To miss the playoffs (+118 via FanDuel)Ja’Marr Chase Under 1250.5 Receiving Yards (-120 via DraftKings)

To Win AFC North (+190)

The AFC is a loaded conference with six teams having +1000 odds or shorter at most sportsbooks to make the Super Bowl. While those odds may entice some to chase a bigger payday, it also makes for a difficult wager to win, given the strength of the competition.

Thus, the only Bengals future bet I would be willing to make from a winning standpoint would be for them to win the AFC North for the second consecutive year.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s availability is uncertain, given his pending legal situation. And whoever emerges from the Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback battle between Mitch Trubisky and rookie Kenny Pickett is a downgrade from Ben Roethlisberger’s illustrious career.

Cincinnati’s toughest competition within the division should come from Baltimore, but the Bengals outscored the Ravens by 44 points in two victories a year ago.

Under 10 Wins (-125)

Perhaps the AFC North will not be as much of a pushover as it seems, as the Bengals have the seventh-toughest schedule in the league based on average projected win totals. In addition, Cincinnati plays its two most formidable NFC South opponents (New Orleans and Tampa Bay) on the road and has five other non-divisional games against playoff teams from a year ago.

Making this wager at DraftKings means Cincinnati going 10-7 would be a push. However, it's a losing bet at FanDuel and BetMGM, who have Cincinnati’s projected win total at 9.5.

Thus, we are comfortable making the wager at DraftKings, knowing it will take 11-6 to beat us.

To Miss The Playoffs (+118)

One would think we would be getting better odds for last year’s AFC champion to miss the playoffs the following year, but that is a testament to the yearly turnover among NFL playoff teams. While the Bengals looked like geniuses for drafting Ja’Marr Chase to give Joe Burrow another weapon, they still come into this season with huge question marks on the offensive line.

We saw in the playoffs how Burrow was hobbled because of big hits, and if he is once again the most sacked quarterback in the league (he took an NFL-high 51 sacks last year), it will be almost impossible to stay healthy for 17 games.

In addition, there is a lot of parity in the division, and making the playoffs will prove more challenging than a year ago when many things broke their way.

Chase Under 1250.5 Receiving Yards (-120)

Ja’Marr Chase exploded onto the scene in his rookie year, amassing 1,455 receiving yards, which ranked fourth in the league. However, Chase’s production came on only 81 catches. Instead, Burrow spread the ball around to Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, as the two with Chase were the only trio of teammates with 65 catches each.

In addition, running back Joe Mixon also chipped in with a career-high 314 receiving yards. Thus, Chase has more competition for targets within his own team that most No. 1 wide receivers do not have.
