The Chiefs looked mighty impressive on Monday Night Football this past week, and now hope to grab another win over a good opponent in Week 5. How are the NFL odds shaking up for this battle between San Francisco and Kansas City?

Heading into Week 5, both the 49ers and Chiefs are on the hunt for win number three. At home and feeling good after a win over the previously unbeaten Eagles last week, San Francisco enters as a 5.5- to 6-point favorite in the NFL odds at the top sportsbooks.

If you're looking for action on the total, the number is trading at 44 points at this point in time. The UNDER has hit in three of San Francisco's four games thus far, and we've seen a 2-2 split with the OVER and UNDER for matchups featuring Kansas City.

San Francisco 49ers in 2014-15 Regular Season: 2-2 SU, 2-2 ATS, -0.2 margin of victory

Kansas City Chiefs in 2014-15 Regular Season2-2 SU, 3-1 ATS, +5.8 margin of victory

In Week 4, the 49ers were tasked with the challenge of slowing down Nick Foles, LeSean McCoy and the rest of the Eagles' fast-paced offense. They passed the test.

In the 26-21 victory, San Francisco did amazing defensive work, holding Philadelphia to just over 200 total yards of offense, a terrific feat in and of itself. The Eagles didn't score an offensive touchdown and turned the ball over four times, with the 49ers also holding star running back McCoy to a mere 17 rushing yards on 10 attempts.

Offensively, the 49ers got a big game from the backfield, most notably Frank Gore. He ran 24 times for 119 yards, while Colin Kaepernick chipped in with 58 yards on seven scampers. The quarterback had 218 passing yards and threw two touchdowns against one interception, with Gore running wild for a 55-yard TD catch and Stevie Johnson also reaching the end zone.

As for the Chiefs, they also got the job done last week, crushing New England 41-14 on Monday Night Football for their second straight victory.

The Patriots never really stood a chance in this one, as the Chiefs raced out to a 27-0 lead and never looked back. Kansas City had 443 total yards of offense as opposed to New England's 290, and the Chiefs defense was all over Tom Brady, who ended the night with a dreadful 11.6 QBR.

QB Alex Smith was excellent throughout the night, throwing for 248 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. He found Jamaal Charles twice for touchdowns and also had another great connection with tight end Travis Kelce, who had eight catches for 93 yards in a breakout performance. Both Charles and Knile Davis had their way with New England's front seven, combining for 199 yards on 34 total carries.

As you can see, it was a memorable night for everyone involved with the Chiefs organization. There's no time to rest on their laurels though, as now they have to deal with the 49ers on the road. It's not going to be easy.

Suarez Says:
For Week 5's NFL picks, we like the look of Kansas City as underdogs.

The Chiefs certainly looked the part last Monday, and hopefully they don't suffer a letdown after such a great all-around effort. It's clear this team is on a roll right now, picking up dominant wins in two straight weeks, and it appears they've worked out all of the kinks after a dreadful 0-2 start to their season. It's hard to accept this Kansas City team lost by 16 at home to Tennessee in Week 1. The NFL is strange.

But back to business. The 49ers have been playing better of late as well, but we don't anticipate them blowing out the visitors in this situation. Kansas City should be able to keep this game close on their way to an ATS cover.
