Lone Ranger of the Week
We dropped a rare NFL LONE RANGER play last week when the St Louis Rams were overwhelmed by the Arizona Cardinals. It was just the second loss of the year for this contrary selection. This week, the San Diego Chargers travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs for this 1:00 ET kick. It was just three short weeks ago that the Chargers were a 3 point home dog to Kansas City in a (33-3) home field defeat.

That is part of a nosedive by the Chargers, which has seen them lose 7 of 8 recent games, and stand 6-17 ATS of late. That 30 point loss was the worst division home defeat in over 30 years. The Chargers’ ground game is abysmal at 83/3.5 overland. The defense is allowing 6.3 YP play, with only New Orleans having a worse number in this category. Quite simply, no one except you, me, and the LONE RANGER are going to be jumping on this 3-9 SU ATS San Diego team who looks like they have tossed the towel.

Kansas City Chiefs
On the other sideline is a Kansas City Chiefs team who has miraculously turned around their season. Seven weeks ago, following a brutal early season slate that saw them start 1-5 SU ATS, it appeared that Kansas City was toast. Since October 18th, however, they have reeled off six consecutive wins and covers, scoring 29 or more PPG each of the last five outings, and not allowing more than 22 points in any of the six games. It all adds up to a 19 point margin of victory, in which they have covered the point spread by 100 points. Last week, Kansas City had an undeserved 34-20 victory at Oakland. They were both outrushed and out passed by the Raiders by a combined margin of 361-232. It is a sure sign that the bubble burst is on its way, for what goes up in the NFL must surely come down. Now the pressure begins to mount on this double digit favorite, who is tied for the Wild Card position with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers. It will be no surprise to this bureau if the road team continues to dominate games that are coached by Andy Reid. In the last 38 Kansas City games, the road team is now 29-9 ATS.

I invite you to put the NFL odds in your favor and join me in my NFL pick on the San Diego Chargers as the LONE RANGER play of the day.
