Preview & NFL Odds

The Carolina Panthers will be the dark horse that everybody overlooked and will win the NFC South this season. The Cats welcomed defensive players Julius Peppers and Captain Munnerlyn back to the fold and also signed two big offensive linemen in Matt Kalil and Mike Adams in free agency. But all that will be for not unless Cam Newton returns to don his Superman cape and lead the Panthers back to glory. This is a team that is just two seasons removed from the Super Bowl and are poised to bounce back in a big way this season.

Carolina's schedule reflects opponents with a 50.4 win percentage and that should be a definite advantage for a team equipped with a roster full of talented players. Of course, Carolina will have to play Super Bowl runner-ups and divisional rivals, the Atlanta Falcons, twice and the Super Bowl winners, the New England Patriots, once in Foxboro. However, one important factor is that the Panthers will not play any cold weather games in December and only one in November when they line up against the New York Jets. Otherwise, this warm weather club should be in good stead without the bitter cold and snow that benefits those clubs from chilly climes.
