The Arizona Cardinals opened up the season in a bad way, while the Las Vegas Raiders competed but lost. We dive into both teams’ quest for a rebound win in our Cardinals-Raiders Week 2 picks.

Las Vegas was dealt a very tough hand in Week 1 when it went to Los Angeles to face the Chargers. The Raiders’ loss was rather excusable. The Cardinals, meanwhile, suffered a blowout courtesy of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Here are our Cardinals-Raiders NFL football picks for Week 2 (odds via BetMGM and FanDuel sportsbooks; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Cardinals vs. Raiders Odds Analysis

The Cardinals initially opened as 2.5-point underdogs before the money started pouring in on the Raiders. Las Vegas is now out as far as -5.5 at most books, with DraftKings still offering five points.

DraftKings is reporting 45% of the bets and 57% of the handle on the Raiders, with the Over garnering 60% of the bets and 74% of the money. The line has bumped up from 51 to 51.5.

Cardinals vs. Raiders ATS Pick

Raiders -5 (-115) ★★★★

This is not a great spot for the Cardinals considering their loss last week. They managed to do absolutely nothing on the ground with running back James Conner, who managed just 26 yards on 10 carries, and even quarterback Kyler Murray didn’t look all that great with 29 yards on five carries.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes, but boy that Cardinals defense did not look good. Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt will likely be returning, but at his age I’m not sure he'll really have an impact. Mahomes went for five touchdowns and 360 yards and Kansas City piled up 128 yards on the ground at 4.7 yards per carry.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr threw three interceptions against L.A., but after watching Thursday Night Football in Week 2 it’s a little more excusable. The Raiders should move the ball at ease against this terrible defense, while the Cardinals don't have the tools to attack the Raiders in the secondary, given how badly they’re hurt.

Cardinals vs. Raiders O/U Pick

Over 51.5 (-115) ★★★★

Las Vegas is probably a little suspect in the secondary, which gives me pause about grabbing the Under. The Raiders are also without linebacker Denzel Perryman and safety Tre’von Moehrig, opening a little window for the Cardinals.

I think Arizona will get some looks on offense, but ultimately the Cardinals’ defense is going to do them in. With that, I think the Over is a solid look. The Cardinals will have to pass given the Raiders' weakness, so there'll be a ton of passing and a lot of points.

Cardinals vs. Raiders Prop Pick

Adams Over 7.5 receptions (-115) ★★★★★

The man had 17 targets in Week 1. He made 10 catches for 141 yards. He is unguardable, and I just don’t know who on the Cardinals' defense can stop Vegas wideout Davante Adams.

Arizona safety Budda Baker and cornerback Byron Murphy are older now. This was a team that Mahomes absolutely torched, and while Carr isn’t at that level, he’s more than good enough to have a field day against Arizona, particularly without a strong pass rush.

I predict this number won’t be here all season.
