Hitting a two-team parlay is always a good way to build your betting bankroll so I am going to try and keep things going with another pair of CFL winners this week. The following is a closer look at my two picks in Week 5 of the CFL regular season based on betting odds from 5Dimes.

This Week's CFL Two-Team Parlay: Argonauts-Lions 'Under' and Tiger-Cats-Roughriders 'Over'

Game 1: Toronto Argonauts vs. British Columbia Lions
Toronto is coming off a bye week following a 2-1 straight-up start that includes a perfect 3-0 record against the spread. With Trevor Harris filling in for an injured Ricky Ray at quarterback, the Argonauts are the second-highest scoring team in the CFL with an average of 29.3 points a game. Harris has thrown for 837 yards and nine touchdowns while completing an impressive 74.7 percent of his 99 attempts.

The Lions completed their home-and-home sweep against Saskatchewan with last Friday’s 27-24 win as three-point road underdogs. They are now 2-1 on the year both SU and ATS. Travis Lulay struggled to move the ball down this field in that game with just 127 yards passing, but he led all rushers with 105 yards on six carries. BC also got a strong performance from running back Andrew Harris with 94 yards and a score on 16 carries.

CFL Betting Trends
The Argonauts are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and they are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a SU loss. The total has stayed UNDER in six of their last seven games.

The Lions are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games following a SU win and they are 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a SU winning record. The total has stayed UNDER in five of their last six games against a team with a winning record SU.

BC has won seven of the last nine meetings SU and it is 6-3 ATS in those nine games. The total has stayed UNDER in 16 of the last 22 meetings.

Betting Prediction
The Lions have gotten the best of things recently in this matchup, but I do not have a world of confidence that they can cover ATS this time around. What I do like is a play on the UNDER against an inflated total line with one of my sports picks.

Team A CFL Pick: Under 54 at 5Dimes

Game 2: Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders
Hamilton will wrap-up a tough four-game stretch on the road to start the 2015 season. It has gone 1-2 SU in the first three games with a 2-1 record ATS. The Tiger-Cats were held to just 13 points in last week’s four-point loss to Montreal as 2.5-point road favorites, but they put up 52 points against Winnipeg in Week 2 after losing to Calgary 24-23 on opening day as six-point road underdogs.

It has been a rough start for Saskatchewan with four losses both SU and ATS against no wins. The one constant in all four of these losses was the team’s ability to put points on the board with Kevin Glenn filling-in for injured quarterback Darian Durant. Glenn actually leads the CFL in passing with 1,228 yards. The other constant was a defense that has really struggled to get off the field. The Roughriders lead the CFL in scoring with an average of 30.5 points a game, but their defense has allowed an average of 36.3 points in its first four contests.

CFL Betting Trends
The Tiger-Cats are 7-1 ATS in their last eight road games and the total has gone OVER in four of their last five Week 5 games.

The Roughriders are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games and just 1-7 ATS in their last eight games at home. The total has gone OVER in five of their last seven home games.

Hamilton has failed to cover in 13 of its last 16 road games against Saskatchewan and the total has stayed UNDER in four of the last five games.

Betting Prediction
The recent betting trends in this matchup may favor the UNDER, but the recent scoring trends as well as defensive play favor a high-scoring affair for Sunday’s game. I am going with another total play in this week’s two-team CFL parlay, but it is on the OVER this time around.

Team B CFL Pick: Over 55.5
