The San Francisco 49ers are controlling the line of scrimmage in 2014, which makes them worthy road favorites in the NFL betting odds against the St. Louis Rams on Monday Night Football.

Under the Bright Lights
San Francisco has a great chance to push its winning streak to three games, considering it has proven victorious in six consecutive Monday night broadcasts, with quarterback Colin Kaepernick throwing for six combined touchdowns and no interceptions in three of those affairs.

The 49ers will likely kick off as NFL odds favorites in this NFC West series for a seventh straight meeting—with each team covering the spread three times in the previous six opportunities.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the franchise is 6-1 SU and 5-1-1 ATS as road favorites of three or fewer points, with the UNDER going 4-3 in that situation.

Davis Is the Key
St. Louis is 1-2 SUATS over its last three games despite winning the statistical battle in each of those affairs, which is important to consider when making your Week 6 NFL picks, considering Austin Davis has played well under center.

The Southern Miss product has thrown for 300-plus yards and three-plus touchdowns in each of his last two games, while he’s also racked up 10 completions of 25 or more yards thus far.

In the Trenches
The 49ers have built a reputation of being one of the more physical teams in the league under head coach Jim Harbaugh, which is why it’s not surprising that it ranks third in both rushing offense and defense.

San Francisco should find plenty of running room against a St. Louis stop unit that surrenders 152.5 rushing yards per game, and has allowed Monday’s opponent to go over the century mark on the ground in five of the last six meetings.

Fisher King
The Rams certainly have some betting trends in their favor heading into this high-profile affair, with Jeff Fisher being 10-5 ATS on Mondays over the course of his coaching career, while he’s also covered 19 of 28 games when taking the field in a double-revenge situation.

St. Louis was outscored by a 58-24 combined margin in dropping both games against San Francisco last year, including a 35-11 setback as three-point home underdogs.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the 49ers as their Monday Night Football pick, as they’ve covered the number in 10 of their last 12 games as road favorites of seven or fewer points.
