Wow! A lot of damage has been done off the field in the NFL. Let’s see if we can provide a quick fix for this popular sport with our Value Betting Plays for week 2 of the 2014-2015 NFL Season.

New England Patriots (0-1) vs. Minnesota Vikings (1-0)
Rule number one is don’t let the best running back in the NFL over the last decade babysit your kid or he’ll use them for a tackling dummy.

Adrian Peterson has been deactivated from today’s game due to child abuse. I think this will affect the Vikings performance at home today. I also can’t see Tom Brady and the Patriots start the season at 0-2.

Miami has always given the Pats trouble in Miami and Knowshon Moreno ran the ball down the Pats throats for 130 yards. There’s no Knowshon in this game and look for Brady to redeem himself.

Free NFL Pick: New England -4.5 at 5 Dimes

Atlanta Falcons (1-0) vs. Cincinnati Bengals (1-0)
I don’t see any way that Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons can be a 5.5 point betting underdog to the Cincinnati Bengals and lose. If anything, the Falcons have a possible chance to win the game.

Ryan started off the season strong as he passed for 448 yards and 3 touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints. Ryan has multiple targets but will be zeroing in on Julio Jones and Roddy White. Although the Bengals appear to be a much improved team and are playing at home, I don’t think that they can stop the momentum that Atlanta built. A.J. Green was credited with 131 yards last week, but one play was a long touchdown pass from Andy Dalton in which Green was lucky to catch the ball off the rebound. Cincinnati is good but Atlanta is better.

Free NFL Pick: Atlanta +5.5 (I really like this NFL pick)

Dallas Cowboys (0-1) vs. Tennessee Titans (1-0)
Dallas fans can only hope that week one’s loss to the San Francisco 49’ers was a fluke. Dallas was down real early in that game and never had a chance. Tony Romo looked quite awful. It actually looked like he intended to throw the ball to the other team while Dez Bryant was injured. The one saving grace for the Cowboys was DeMarco Murray. The Cowboys need to build their offense around Murray because he was unstoppable; relentless if you will. Murray ran for 118 yards on 22 carries with a TD and I don’t expect it to end there. Take Dallas as the underdog. If the Cowboys don’t win today’s game, Jerry Jones could be making moves in the near future.

Free NFL Pick: Dallas +3.5 +104

New York Jets (1-0) vs. Green Bay Packers (0-1)
Green Bay and quarterback Aaron Rodgers can’t feel too good about their inability to score against the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks in Thursday’s game in week 1 and they’ve had 10 days to think about it. Even though the Jets come into this game a 7.5 point betting underdog, they also have a tough defense and I don’t think that this will be a cakewalk for the Packers.

Chris Johnson and the Jets running game looked really good in week 1 and although he still was mistake-prone, Geno Smith appeared to be a bigger and more effective quarterback. Look for New York to make this a really close game without weather being a factor early in the season.

Free NFL Pick: Jets+7.5

Other Leans

New York Giants -1 Over Arizona Cardinals: The Giants can’t be as bad as what we saw in week 1. Home field advantage is a factor here.

Seattle Seahawks -3.5 Over San Diego Chargers: From book to book the NFL odds are varying, but it doesn’t matter. San Diego looked awful in week 1 against Arizona and the Seahawks are the team to beat in the NFL at the moment.
