We sift through the entire week 2 slate in search of the best ATS plays of the week. Find out which games we’re spotting and where the best NFL odds are to be found.

Week 1 Best ATS Plays Recap
We went 2-1 with our top three ATS plays in week 1 when the Cardinals (-1) and Giants (+7) came through for us but the Detroit Lions (+2.5) didn’t.  The Lions, our third choice NFL pick, were close to coming through. They started brightly on the road and took the early lead over the Chargers, only to frit it away and fall 33-28 in the end, which, in turn, cost us a perfect 3-0 record in week 1.

Oh la, no sense in crying over spilt beer. On the bright side, we did go 13-3 with our game-by-game ATS NFL picks for the entire first week of NFL, so in the broad spectrum we did very well.

Enough fanfare. Let’s look ahead to week 2 instead and serve up another three top plays to bet on with your bookies.

Detroit (+1) to Cover at Minnesota
The NFL betting line on this game has been steadily coming down since opening on 3-points against the spread with Minnesota Vikings to the good at early doors. As it is, they Lions have come down to 1-point road underdogs with a surge of money coming down the wire going towards them across sports betting platforms.

The Vikings were rudely brought back down to earth at Levi stadium in week 1 NFL betting, crushed by the Niners in a 20-3 loss all while trading as the whopping 2.5-point road faves. So much for their stellar pre-season, which was described as having so-called midseason form during the month of August. In one fell swoop, it was a moot point.

On the flipside, the Lions are coming off a 33-28 loss to the Chargers on the road, all while failing to cover as the 3-point road dogs. They did enjoy the lead at one point and looked to be well on their way to victory, only for the Chargers to rally in the game and clinch the win. On balance of the separate accounts, the Lions were the better team in week 1 NFL betting, much better than the Vikings. As such, we fancy them to bounce back in week 2 on the road at Minnesota, a divisional rivalry they’ll be looking to dominate this season once again.

St. Louis (-3) to Cover at Washington
It’s not always a good idea to back the following week a team that is coming off a big upset such as the St. Louis Rams, who are after beating the Seahawks. Commonly referred to ‘the hangover’ effect, often those teams succumb to a loss and, more often than not, to lesser teams. That said the Washington Redskins leave much to be desired after a 20-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Granted they had the lead and looked to be dominating the Dolphins in every category, but one poor play and the game turned on a dime. St. Louis defense figures to be one of the stoutest, not unlike the Dolphins D. This is going to be another tough home game for the Redskins in our opinion. As such, our choice NFL pick is the Rams at -3.

Jets (+7) to Cover at Indianapolis
How the Colts can be trading at 7-points after their abysmal opening account is a bit surprising to us. Sure, they’ve been long touted amongst top Super Bowl 50 faves. Ever since beating Denver in the playoffs before succumbing to the Patriots in the AFC Championship game they emerged as one of the teams to spot. However, a 1-3 SU record in the preseason and an opening 27-14 loss to the Bills on the road can’t be ignored. It seems odds makers are downplaying it a lot. Keep in mind, Ryan Fitzpatrick is very familiar with the Colts having spent last season with the Texans. And he did give Andrew Luck and the Colts a run for their money in a shootout last season. As such, we’re thinking the Jets are extremely undervalued as the 7-point underdogs on the road and could potentially keep this game closer than the NFL odds would suggest.

NFL Picks: Jets +7 (-116) bet365
