Week 6 of NFL betting is almost upon us so here are some of our last-minute ATS NFL picks for your betting thrills. We weigh in on three choice matchups and analyse the NFL odds.

Detroit Lions +2.0 (-105) vs. Minnesota Vikings
This might be the iffiest game of the weekend schedule, but we think that very uncertainty has delivered an NFL betting line that can be profited with. Consider Lions boast a legitimate defense and the 2-point spread all of a sudden appears nominal. They should give the Vikings more trouble than the odds makers give credit. Granted there are injury concerns but they are on both sides of the coin. On paper, the Lions are the better team and, frankly, Teddy Bridgewater (if he does play) can’t possibly be the answer to everything.

NFL Picks: Lions +2.0

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans -4.0 (-110)
Titans initially opened as 6-point favourites but early betting coming down the wire pushed the spread towards the Jaguars, forcing the NFL odds down to 4-points. At one point, the NFL lines went off the board entirely because of the many questions surrounding Jake Locker: whether he’d be fit for the weekend date with the Jaguars. Rumour has it he’s going to be holding a clipboard on the sidelines, making way for Charlie Whitehurst at centre. Since word got out, many NFL pundits are leaning towards the winless Jaguars, wildly optimistic this might finally be their chance to win a game this season. In theory it’s possible considering both teams are struggling. In reality it’s just wishful thinking. Jaguars have absolutely no talent to back that notion up. What’s more, they’ve been ridiculously outscored, outmuscled and outplayed through five weeks of NFL betting. Everybody is on about this being the Jaguars’ best shot to win a game, ignoring the fact that it’s equally, if not more so on account of home advantage, the Titan’s best shot to clinch their second win of the season. Take the Titans as the 4-point chalk for your NFL picks.

NFL Picks: Titans -4

Washington Redskins +3.5 (-110) vs. Arizona Cardinals
This was another game that fell off the board for a stretch this week, amidst uncertainty at centre in Arizona. The Cardinals are enjoying the worst run of luck with their quarterbacks this season, losing one by one to injury. First Carson Palmer suffered nerve damage and then, last weekend, second-string quarterback Drew Stanton suffered a concussion. It’s as yet unclear which will start if at all. If neither, the starting duties will fall to Logan Thomas.

Such uncertainty hanging over the Cardinals at centre, prompts the feeling the Washington Redskins really do have shot to take the road win. Redskins are on a bit of a losing streak, but how much shame is there in losses to two really good teams and one defending champion? The Redskins are after a defeat to Seattle at home, a game in which Kirk Cousins threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns and overall the Redskins played well enough, keeping it close for a stretch even. That should send them into Arizona with some confidence. If not, they can draw confidence from a winning record against the Cardinals that stretches to eight games in a row.

NFL Picks: Redskins +3.5 (-108) at Pinnacle
